According to a new study in Italy, moderate drinking of coffee can reduce mild cognitive impairment (mild cognitive impairment, MCI), protect brain neurons from harmful proteins and reduce memory loss, but drinking one cup is the best.

The Daily Mail reported on the 1st that the study was conducted by experts from Bari Aldo Moro University University in Bari Aldo Moro University to study the coffee drinking habits of 1445 of 5632 people aged 65 to 84 in the Italian long-term Aging study (Italian Longitudinal Study on Ageing, ILSA) for an average of 3.5 years.

It was found that respondents who regularly drank one cup of coffee were the least likely to develop MCI, the first sign of dementia in old age. Other drinks that contain the right amount of caffeine, such as tea, have the same effect.

The study is published in the Journal of Alzheimer's Disease (the Journal of Alzheimers Disease). But the study also found that people who drank more than one cup of coffee for a long time had twice as much MCI as those who drank only one cup.

Scholars say there is no cure for MCI, so risk management and factors that protect the brain are important. (Wang Bao immediately)
