Starbucks accompanying card transformation phone case sweep can buy coffee
Starbucks Japan will soon launch a new series of "STARBUCKS TOUCH," breaking through the previous card format, presented in the shape of a phone case, and built-in FeliCa inductive IC chip. In the future, consumers will be able to pay quickly through this "accompanying shell" and enjoy Starbucks coffee without having to take the accompanying card out!
Since Japan introduced the card in 2002, a total of 107 models have been introduced. Its prepaid value mechanism makes payment more convenient, and the diversified design attracts many fans to buy collections.
Starbucks Touch The Cup is the first Starbucks Touch series and the 108th accompanying card. The appearance of fog coating adds texture, and the design is simple without losing Starbucks style. You see that? It is the shape of a paper cup with a heat insulation pad, and it also humorously adds the "Card" option and even ticks it, which makes people smile.
STARBUCKS TOUCH carries contactless FeliCa chips, originally developed and produced by Sony, such as Octopus cards in Hong Kong and Suica cards in Japan, which use FeliCa technology; while leisure cards in Taiwan and Oyster cards in London in the United Kingdom use MIFARE Classic chip technology developed by Philips Semiconductor (now NXP Semiconductors).
STARBUCKS TOUCH stores value in the same way as the accompanying card. When paying, just scan the phone case through the inductive card reader. However, the fly in the ointment of this accompanying shell is that only the iPhone 6 version is currently available, and there is no further information on whether a dedicated shell will be developed for other phones without mobile payment function in the future.
STARBUCKS TOUCH The Cup is priced at 4,240 yen and includes 1,000 yen in savings. It will be available in Japan on May 20. Although Taiwanese people can't immediately experience the fun of STARBUCKS TOUCH fast payment, in fact, the current inductive second-generation accompanying card is equally convenient, and it can also be registered to improve security. In terms of practicality, it is not inferior to the accompanying phone case at all.
