In short, every time you step here, you always see a different scene. Somerset House has been one of the main arts and cultural venues in London since 2000, and recently there has been a highly discussed new restaurant, Pennethorne's Cafe Bar.

Pennethorne's Cafe Bar is on the west side of the building, looking at Lancaster Square and Waterloo Bridge. The restaurant is named after the famous 19th century architect Sir James Pennethorne, who was also one of the people who helped design Somerest House. Not only the name, the food in the restaurant is also based on his life experience as a reference, inspired by Sir James Pennethorne's trip to Europe European Grand Tour, with reference to the food culture of European countries, Pennethorne's Cafe Bar put the adventurous spirit of travel on the table, the integration of French, British, Spanish and Italian dishes, using creativity to run-in with each other, launched a series of delicious meals.

The design of the restaurant itself is also very interesting, and what is most difficult to ignore is the unique Victorian floor-to-ceiling window, which not only is a textured decoration, but also allows indoor guests to enjoy delicious food while leisurely looking out of the window at the streets of London changing with time. The interior decoration echoes with a steady dark blue and gold, simple but not boring; the deliberately high pattern design, as well as the paintings and decorations on the walls, with gold and copper round desktops, add a trace of luxury to the overall space.

Pennethorne's Cafe Bar's food is very particular about ingredients, hoping to make simple but delicious dishes with the best quality, and let guests feel the chef's enthusiasm for food in the most direct way. In the room opposite the main coffee bar of the restaurant, there is a Drawing Room for private parties. Completely different from the overall feeling of the restaurant, the all-white walls with black and shallow wooden tables and chairs, large mirrors create a room hierarchy, corners and desktops are dotted with green potted plants, leaving a bright and elegant atmosphere. The not-so-small space can accommodate up to 40 people for medium-sized parties, and meals will be tailor-made by the chef, providing a different dining experience from the Pennethorne's Cafe Bar main hall.
