"I hope my things are cheaper," her eyes were sincere and natural, "so that some people like my things, so they won't be able to take them home because of the high price."

There was a shock in our presence. At this time, the camera used for shooting has been put away, unable to record this picture. In the course of the previous interview, I said: as we promote you to be better known, your work will be more valuable in the future, and she was silent at that time.

"most of the people who buy these handmade works I do are middle class, doctors and professors. If I had made something cheaper, more ordinary people would have been able to buy it. When I was setting up the stall, there was an old man who liked the cup I made, but hesitated because of the price, so I gave it to him. "

She returned from Italy, studied ceramics, settled in Jingdezhen and rented a dilapidated factory as a studio. When we arrived, she stood on the edge of the shabby wooden door with a smile, with dirt on her hair and clothes, smiling as happily as a child. If there is an antonym for affectation, she is the antonym. What kind of requirements we have when shooting, she will do it meticulously, her ideal is to "do a good thing", and talk to her, such as Mu Qingquan.

I've been in the city for a long time, and I haven't seen such a clean person for a long time.

For the "artist" series of products, we went to Jingdezhen several times to find some smart and powerful designers and ceramists to customize some coffee products. "artists" does not refer to these producers, but hopes to bring handicrafts and design products with artistic beauty to the lives of ordinary people, so that people can think like artists and feel delicate beauty.

For us today, it doesn't matter whether the project is profitable or not, it has become our spiritual interest. This may sound fake, but after the exchange in Jingdezhen, we have really indulged in the shock and baptism of this kind of values. One of the most interesting things is to reawaken the true light of the word "dream" that has long been buried in variety shows and chicken soup.

Kim Soo-Kun

She is a Korean ceramist from the fashionable metropolis of Seoul to this fourth-tier town with poor planning and public facilities. when she first arrived, Jingdezhen could not find a coffee shop, and the traffic was disturbing.

But she doesn't think this is a big problem, because here "the whole city is related to ceramics, while there are only a small area of ceramics in South Korea." the reason is as simple as that. She has been here for four years, repeatedly carving her favorite straight-line texture. Now she lives with her Chinese husband, an eight-month-old child, in an ordinary residence in Jingdezhen. Downstairs is her simple studio.

She hoped that her cups would not sell too much or too little. She said that her dream is to make ceramics until she is old, so that the whole family can live a well-off life.

Wei Gou

He is slightly different from several others. He is a senior ceramic product designer rather than a ceramist who makes products one by one by relying solely on his own craftsmanship, although his ceramic skills are equally solid. Unlike those young "Jingpiao" with a cramped life, he once worked as a design director for a large ceramic brand in Shanghai for several years, and now he runs his own studio in Jingdezhen, which is quite large-scale, and celebrities often ask him to design custom ceramics.

He is a man with edges and corners, both on the outside and inside. He doesn't smile or even criticize seriously when he disagrees with the point of view, but he will trim it over and over for days for the nuance of a curve. He doesn't take orders easily, is willing to do challenging projects, and is willing to work with professional people. So we hit it off, and we gave him the most challenging project, hoping to make the most beautiful and subversive ceramic filter cup in his hand.

Fan Nengjuan

She was a careless girl on the outside, and that's how she described herself, so when her lace work came out, her friends lost their jaws.

Using ceramic to make lace, the mold cannot reach that precision, so the details of the lace need to be carved and sketched with a needle and a sharp pen, and a cup will be carved for six or seven hours. As soon as the blanks are carved into the kiln, the heat may be completely wasted, killing people every minute.

She doesn't talk about lofty theories and philosophies. she likes turning sugar lace cakes, so she makes a series of lace, which she thinks can also be commercially popular. She thought it would be more appetizing to use exquisite utensils to hold food. Everyone who saw her product was amazed at its delicacy and delicacy, especially for women. As she said, live up to this time.

We also met a ceramist girl at the bazaar. She made a really good cup. We said that we were a relatively large coffee utensils company in China and wanted to customize something with you. She said no, and immediately lost our momentum. She continued to talk to her because she came to Jingdezhen to always do what she wanted, and what she wanted to do depended on the direction she was going to try next. So, if she wants to do something she doesn't want to do anymore, it can't be bought with money.

I also used to be fascinated by the Japanese craftsman complex. I settled down with my skill and passed it on for generations without ambiguity. I used to think that China has experienced great cultural changes and the market baptism, this kind of spirit is hard to find, but in Jingdezhen, these young people, the new generation, come here from the whole country and even all over the world to live here for what they love. They show the spirit of Chinese craftsmen.

In the face-based "bitter variety dream", in the era of media and film and television, it is often embarrassing to mention the word dream. Those martyrs who package themselves as dreams but talk about their abandoned comfort and interests can only be regarded as "dream bitches" by comparison. (of course, most "dream bitches" are the product of variety shows and chicken soup, not the original intention of the contestants. It is the vulgar group that labels them from their own point of view.)

But in these ceramists, I found the original definition of dream: the natural love of creating beautiful objects, so that they have no time for distractions, they are not pretentious dreamers or martyrs, but people who really live according to their own likes and dislikes.

They are not committed to this bitter feud, just to one day rely on ceramics to become famous, climb the red carpet and leave this messy town. They do not bear the pain to give up splendor and wealth, nor do they talk about unfathomable ideas, they just concentrate on doing it because they like it, their life is as simple and complete as their childhood, their hearts are not corrupted and broken, the interest logic of "money makes ghosts go around" does not apply to them, and the words "I sacrificed XX to pursue my dream" will never appear in their mouth.

They have their own persistence, have their own real life, and live cleanly and thoroughly. Their dreams flow naturally like a stream, living seriously for the things they love in this messy town.

That's all.

Heart of a craftsman

Whether it was Kim Xiuyi from Seoul, Su Fei who returned from Italy, or Wei pupil who left bustling Shanghai, I asked the same question: why did I decide to settle here, whether there was a gap and whether there was a trade-off?

The answer is: there is no gap, no trade-off.

Because they like to make ceramics, they come to the most convenient city to do ceramics, not to mention the distant dream, and there is no bitterness and hatred. They will go on vacation and occasionally go to big cities to negotiate. Ceramics are a part of their life, giving them fun and financial support.

At the same time, they also really create beauty.

When I think of some variety shows, I often cry, "Music (or other) is my dream, what have I paid for it?" and burst into tears. Then the mentor told him that your dream would come true.

It suddenly occurred to me that the dream of those people is not music, but what they give away. The dream they expect to come true, to put it bluntly, is to pursue success, and then make up for what they have lost, otherwise they will not talk about it. Just like I sneaked into the arcade with breakfast money when I was a child, I wouldn't talk about that breakfast just because I thought it was better to play games.

The real dream is your own choice, so that you enjoy it, let yourself enjoy the best things, the rest of the things are not worth mentioning.
