China's most beautiful homestay: Two college students played all over the world and finally fell in love with this valley

When ► was studying urban planning at Tongji University, Ji Xiaoxiang (right) and Yang Mohan (left) were good hikers. Five years later, Yang Mohan went to Canada and played all over North America. Ji Xiaoxiang stayed at the Shanghai Pudong Planning Institute and played all over the country.

After playing more, they wanted to open their own accommodation and realize their ideas in hotel, tourism and design, and they began to look for a suitable place to stay. In 2013, New Year's Day, the couple came to Biwu Village in Mogan Mountain in Zhejiang Province. It snowed that day, just in their thirties, they stood on the terrace of an old residential house in northern Zhejiang, looking at the snow all over the mountain opposite, the first feeling was: yes, this is it!

They rented the house immediately, and it became the No. 1 building of the "Big Happy Wild" residence. Today, they have renovated or built six new villas in Biwu Village, including a restaurant and a cafe. With the completion of the Great Happy Wild, many young people have also moved to live for a long time, and the appearance of Biwu Village has been very different ever since.

The wild of great joy is quoted from the Classic of Mountains and Seas, which means a beautiful place that has been forgotten. The Biwu Village of Mogan Mountain, where Dale is located, is hidden between the mountains, forests, bamboo and sea, in which a stream crosses. When you wake up in the morning or go to bed at night, it is so quiet that you can only hear the sound of birds and streams.

Building one

Building 1 had a high view, so the two made a high terrace with a view of the whole mountain. Ji Xiaoxiang said that the ideal at that time was to sit and look at the mountains, and his eyes were green, and he was very satisfied.

Here are typical residential houses in northern Zhejiang in the 1970s and 1980s. Dale Noble transformed these old houses in the form of modern architectural design, but completely retained the wooden frame structure of the residential houses in northern Zhejiang in each building.

In the process of reconstruction, the two men used floor-to-ceiling windows in a large area, so that the mountain view could penetrate into the interior as much as possible. They hope that the guests, their families and themselves will have a chance to open the window one morning and see the snow all over the mountain.

Ji Xiaoxiang likes the mountain library described by Haruki Murakami in "Kafka by the Sea" very much, and wants to be a library in Dale, although this beautiful ideal has only become a wall full of bookshelves in the end. but it always reminds them of their original ideals and aspirations.

Building two

Building 2 is hidden behind a century-old yew, and the whole courtyard is surrounded by the yew.

Although neither of them is a hotel management major, they will do everything themselves. The two of them carefully considered the scene of each window and the arrangement of every furniture.

Building 3

When they entered Building 3, they wanted to go up the stream. They wanted to build a "running water villa", but later they found that a tree was in the way, so they left the tree behind and made a detour. When designing every house, they follow such a way of respecting nature.

There is also a small living room suitable for three or two friends to get together. When the warm sun shines through the window during the day, you can be in a daze and take a nap. The newly chopped wood was piled by the stove, and the night talk around the stove in winter was not interesting.

Yang Mohan attaches great importance to the comfort of accommodation and will remove the experiences that affect guests in some old buildings, such as the "creaking" sound of old wood in the hallway, which will not appear here.

Building 3 is next to the stream and there is a terrace where you can see the stars.

Coffee Shop

Chen Yue, a native of Wukang in Deqing, was invited by Ji Xiaoxiang to host the cafe of Da Le Ye. She soon fell in love with the village, and her ideal cafe was surrounded by the green mountains, where there was a fragrance, and everyone came in to drink coffee instead of ordering chicken wings.

Dining Room

The ingredients in the picnic hall of Dale are all based on the mountains and use local materials. On weekdays, the two will go to the mountains to dig for fresh bamboo shoots and catch some wild fish and shrimp. These ingredients only need simple cooking will have a very delicious taste, not even seasoning.
