Recently, I was arranged to participate in the Shanghai Food Expo and the "2014 Greater China Coffee Industry Elite Forum". I had the opportunity to travel to Shanghai again five years later.
The abbreviation of "Greater China Coffee Elite Forum" (GCEF) is co-sponsored and organized by a group of coffee practitioners who are passionate about coffee. Its purpose is to share and exchange the latest coffee information in Greater China, discuss the future trend of coffee, and hope to unite coffee practitioners in various fields through the form of the forum. "2014 Greater China Coffee Industry Elite Forum" was solemnly held on April 4, 2014 at the Andashi Hotel in Shanghai with the theme of "Coffee Infinite Flip". More than 200 guests from various coffee producing and marketing areas such as Colombia, Italy, China (mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong) attended the forum. In the form of a forum, the forum invited professionals from the coffee industry in Greater China to have a core discussion around this theme. The host introduced that the main purpose of this forum is to discuss the infinite possibilities of coffee development in various fields besides being used as a drink. At the same time, in recent years, the coffee industry has gone from planting, post-harvest processing and baking to the continuous development of innovative technology in coffee machines, the renewal of brewing methods, the invention of brewing utensils, etc., to the establishment of major international coffee certification bodies and taste institutions, and the establishment of coffee taste standards and scoring mechanisms, all show that the traditional concept of coffee has been constantly overturned.
As the only representative of China's local coffee producing areas, I attended the forum and made a special speech on "the trend and Future of Coffee made in China". I analyzed the trend of coffee production and consumption in China, and put forward: although the consumer market is growing very fast, however, due to the limitations of the planting environment, China's coffee market will face a situation of long-term dependence on foreign imports. With the enhancement of health awareness, there is a higher demand for green and ecology. coffee production must quickly improve quality and efficiency, step into the new traceable field of production, and strengthen the supervision of coffee production quality. In the future, made in China, eco-coffee, boutique coffee, certified coffee, refined coffee, warehousing transactions, Chinese local brands, new product research and development will become the most fashionable terms in the field of Chinese coffee.
