Starbucks CEO: homemade coffee in a French press is the best.
The picture shows Starbucks CEO Schultz and his recommended French coffee press.
According to foreign reports, Howard Schultz, president and CEO of Weibo, the world's largest coffee chain, admitted a few days ago that the best way to make coffee is not the Starbucks brand practice, but the best way to make coffee in his home with a French coffee press.
Schultz says the coffee he makes in a Bodum French coffee press is the best coffee known to mankind.
If Schultz brews a pound of Starbucks beans for about $14, it costs about 46 cents per cup of coffee, while consumers spend $2.01 at a Starbucks store in Manhattan to buy a small cup of American coffee.
Starbucks CEO Schultz pointed out in an interview with BusinessWeek a few days ago that the French coffee press can give full play to the oil, aroma, flavor and other flavors in coffee.
He also advises consumers not to buy pre-ground coffee beans (preground coffee), while Starbucks products that consumers can buy in supermarkets are all kinds of ground coffee and bagged coffee beans.
Schultz describes the best way to make coffee at home: the French coffee press should not be placed on the stove, pour the coffee into an thermos cup and finish it in an hour or two at the latest.
Although Schultz's recommended method conflicts with the use of professional coffee machines in Starbucks stores, it may also be a way for him to promote Starbucks, which sells the French coffee press on its website for $19.95.
Schultz grew up in a low-rent house in Brooklyn, New York, and went to college on athlete scholarships. After graduation, he worked as a salesman in several companies before joining the smaller Starbucks at that time. Later, he summoned a group of investors to buy Starbucks and used his idea to build Starbucks into a well-known brand worth tens of billions of dollars.
Currently, Starbucks has more than 5500 coffee shops in more than 50 countries. In 2006, Schultz made the Forbes 400 richest list, ranking 354th with a fortune of $1.1 billion.
According to Technomic, Starbucks is currently the third best-selling restaurant chain in the world after McDonald's (Weibo) and Subway. Starbucks' annual sales have grown 39% since 2006, generating $9.8 billion in sales last year. (Golden Moon)
