The project is located at the east side of Beijing Jingyuan Art Center. The owner wants to use the first and second floors of the office building as a "free cafe", so that customers can stay at will and communicate freely. Because the first "Mountain Coffee" shop is located at the foot of Xiangshan in Beijing, this shop in the urban area also hopes to smell "Mountain".

The budget for such a cafe is limited, so the space can only be constructed with common materials. The interesting thing is that the height of each floor is 3.8 meters. It is too high to make a single floor, and the tension of two floors is relatively high. How to conceive such a space is full of challenges. From the "mountain" think of a poem by Su Shi: "horizontal view into the ridge side peak, far and high different." I don't know the true face of Mount Lu, only because I am in this mountain." So suddenly in the central part of the space and dig down a meter, and then build a mezzanine above. When customers step down through the mezzanine into the excavated "negative floor", they create a "mountain" space experience. Another mezzanine space is short, customers can only sit or lie inside, three or two people here to chat is also a good place.

A cabin was built under the stairs leading to the second floor, and the stairs were hidden behind the cabin. The second floor is divided into several small spaces. There is no physical partition wall, but instead green plant shelves. With the passage of time, the green plants adjust their natural form. The wind blows, sit down and face the warm sun. It is very comfortable and comfortable.

This is a space that we have built that is free to organize, flexible to use, can grow, and has life. Each brick and each wood left traces of workers 'labor, and there was a certain "dialogue" with the people who used this space.
