Russia launches a manned spacecraft carrying three astronauts and a coffee machine to the International Space Station
According to Xinhua News Agency, the Russian space agency used the "Soyuz-FG" carrier rocket to send the manned spacecraft "Soyuz TMA-15M" to the International Space Station at the Baikonur launch site in Kazakhstan in the early morning of the 24th.
According to the Russian Federal Space Agency, the Soyuz rocket was launched at 00:01 Moscow time (05:01 Beijing time) on the 24th. According to the plan, the spacecraft will automatically dock with the "Dawn" docking module of the International Space Station through fast docking mode after about six hours of flight.
The three astronauts who went to the International Space Station were Anton Shikprilov of the Russian Federal Space Agency, Terry Wiltes of NASA and Samantha Kristofferty of the European Space Agency. They will work in space for 169 days, complete hundreds of scientific experiments and welcome a number of cargo ships.
The Soyuz TMA-15M spacecraft was also flown to the International Space Station with the first space coffee machine, ISSpresso, made by the Italian Space Agency, Italian coffee maker Lavaza and a space company. The first space coffee machine weighs about 20 kilograms and is mostly made of steel pipes and needs to work under high pressure.
The Soyuz TMA-15M manned spacecraft is expected to dock with the International Space Station at around 05:50 Moscow time (10:50 Beijing time) on the 24th. The astronauts currently on duty at the International Space Station are Russian astronauts Yelena Shilova, Alexander Samokudiyev and NASA astronaut Barry Wilmore.
