Imagine: let the disabled also have "coffee time"

Can't disabled people have such a life when they drink coffee, read books, chat and be in a daze? Wang Dacheng, a well-known public welfare worker who has long taken care of cerebral palsy patients and often deals with people with disabilities, raised the above questions.

"it may be more important to treat people with disabilities not only as vulnerable groups, but also to respect their feelings and development needs, and to look at them in the same way as normal people." Wang Dacheng said that after thinking and research, he found that the form of "book + coffee" is a very good solution.

Progress: it has been recognized by the disabled Persons' Federation and the streets

Isn't it a bit extravagant and unnecessary to make this place more "high-end", even with music, movies and coffee?

To this end, Wang Dacheng also specially invited many disabled friends to conduct a questionnaire survey, and the result was that they longed for such a place. "if we don't build enough 'high-end' and humanized people, how can we talk about real respect and understanding of the disabled?" His proposal and persistence not only won the understanding and support of the volunteers around him, but also fully recognized the plan by the Wuhu subdistrict office of Baohe District and the disabled Persons' Federation of Baohe District.

On August 1, Song Aiguo, head of the Wuhu Road subdistrict office, said: "We are also looking forward to providing a high-quality place for people with disabilities to study and make friends." After contact, at present, the third Hospital of Hefei also intends to provide help.

Status quo: the venue has funds to be raised

Wang Dacheng's "inspiration" came from the "Xiaoling Book House" built for cerebral palsy patient Shi Xiaoling to make friends. Shi Xiaoling has agreed to transform her yard and living room into a study and coffee bar, and the city's third courtyard has also helped transform the idle courtyard.

Wang Dacheng and his buddies are actively raising money for this. They said that if there is strong support from enterprises or caring people, the book bar can be named by donors.
