On the 10th, the International High-end Forum of Chinese Fine Coffee (roasting) was held in Pu'er, the "coffee capital of China". Wang Min, director of the Agricultural Department of Yunnan Province, was delivering a speech at the forum, talking freely about the "Blue Ocean Dream" of "Yuncaf".

Yunnan Province, which has a history of growing coffee for more than a hundred years, is located in the low-latitude plateau, with rich resources, high forest coverage, sufficient sunshine and large temperature difference between day and night, which provides good environmental conditions for the production of high-quality, ecologically safe coffee, and is one of the best coffee growing areas in the world. The Arabica coffee produced in Yunnan has a mellow content and a long aftertaste, with the characteristics of "strong but not bitter, fragrant but not strong, slightly sour", and its quality is comparable to that of Colombian coffee.

Yunnan coffee industry began commercial production in the late 1980s. After 30 years of development, dominant producing areas have been basically formed, and industrial concentration has increased significantly. In 2015, the planting area of coffee in Yunnan reached 1.77 million mu and the output reached 130000 tons. The advantage of industrial scale is gradually emerging, and the position of the first place in China in terms of area and output can not be moved.

It is gratifying that at present, nearly 500000 mu of coffee production base in Yunnan Province has passed the European Union, the United States, Japan and other international organic certification, UTZ certification, Rainforest Alliance certification and 4C certification. In 2015, Yunnan exported 43000 tons of coffee, earning 150 million US dollars in foreign exchange, ranking third among Yunnan's agricultural products that earned foreign exchange.

The government and enterprises are optimistic about Yunnan's location advantages and coffee industry advantages. In 2014, Yunnan established a Yunnan coffee trading center in Pu'er City, laying the foundation for the development of the coffee industry.

Wang Minzheng believes that Yunnan Province, as a hub connecting South Asia and Southeast Asia, is located at the pass of Vietnam, India, Thailand, and other major coffee producers in the world, entering and leaving the China-ASEAN Free Trade area. The regional coffee output of neighboring countries has reached more than 2 million tons, accounting for more than 1/5 of the global output. Yunnan has obvious advantages as a "radiation center" in coffee trade and market promotion.

Wang Minzheng said that Yunnan will promote the transformation and upgrading of the coffee industry, speed up the establishment of the coffee industry Internet, promote the construction of the coffee industry chain complex, and strive to build Yunnan into an internationally renowned base of high-quality coffee raw materials, the largest coffee processing center in China and the coffee trading center in Asia.
