The 26th World Coffee Science Congress held in Kunming
Liu Lianyu, president of the Export-Import Bank of China, Yu Dingcheng, vice chairman of the Provincial Committee of the Chinese people's political Consultative Conference and chairman of the Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce, Sun Handong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and other guests attended the opening ceremony.
On behalf of the provincial government, he Duanqi welcomed the guests attending the meeting. He said: Yunnan is one of the earliest provinces in China to grow coffee. At present, it has formed a complete industrial chain from planting, processing, consumption to marketing, and the coffee industry has become one of the most plateau industries in Yunnan. As the most influential and authoritative conference in the industry, the World Coffee Science Conference presents the latest coffee science and technology achievements for global coffee workers, and provides a high-level platform for exchanges and cooperation among coffee researchers, producers, traders and consumers. It is hoped that all parties participating in the meeting will make full use of the good opportunities provided by the conference to explore new ideas and technologies for the development of the industry, look for opportunities for cooperation, and build bridges for mutually beneficial cooperation between countries and China, especially in Yunnan.
Nelig said that this is the first time that the World Coffee Science Conference has been held in China. China is both a big coffee producer and a big consumer. Kunming, the main venue of the conference, is the "coffee capital", and Mangshi is also another hometown of Chinese coffee. It is believed that this conference will provide a good communication platform for the coffee industry.
The conference is co-sponsored by the World Coffee Science and Information Association and the China Coffee Engineering Research Center, with the assistance of Yunnan Agriculture Department, Dehong Dai Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture and Yunnan University. With the theme of "sharing the Scientific Progress of Coffee", people in the industry from various countries will conduct in-depth research on coffee chemistry, coffee agronomy, coffee genomics, coffee sustainable development, coffee breeding, coffee pest control, coffee quality and other related issues at the seven-day conference.
Vice Governor he Duan Qi, President of the World Coffee Science Congress Nelig, Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Zhang Yaping and other Chinese and foreign guests delivered speeches at the opening ceremony.
