Of course, using a steam engine like Mini has inherent disadvantages. The pressure is only three atmospheres, which is much different from the ideal nine atmospheres. Overheating is another fatal wound. Basically, you can't make a real espresso at all!

So basically I don't recommend drinking espresso cooked by KrupsMini! However, the cappuccino or latte made with dim sum is not bad, and it is usually better than a shop assistant who uses a professional machine but does not pay attention to it. This is also just before my Krups steam engine retires to sort out my experience. I hope you can also give us some suggestions.

[1]

Choose fresh beans.

Of course, it's best to bake by yourself. if not, try a restaurant that bakes by yourself. It is best not to buy beans that have been baked for more than seven days, so imported beans are not fresh enough unless they are sent by DHL (is it possible?) or have any special packaging.

[2]

Your bean grinder is a propeller, that is, the blade is like a propeller turning to cut beans, right? This kind of bean grinder has some inherent shortcomings. first, it will produce high fever, which will damage the taste of beans, so don't hit it for more than 30 seconds. In fact, it won't be finer if you hit it for more than 30 seconds.

Second, it is difficult to control the result of each time, and the thickness is uneven, and it is not fine enough. (but if you use Mini, maybe the thickness is OK) the improved method is almost unsolvable, and the best way is to buy a lark KMM30, or even a better bean grinder (such as RancilioRocky). But the book "ESPRESSO:FromBeantoCup" says a funny way: (I'm not responsible for breaking the machine) when he uses this bean grinder, he presses the lid in one hand, picks up the fuselage in the other, and shakes it like making black tea. According to the author, the beans are much more uniform and meticulous, although they are not perfect, they can be used.

Then there is the heat engine, boil it in water and air, and remember to take out the metal container of coffee powder first and don't heat it. (but that one is used for this container, and of course the one with a handle) put the hot water into the cup you want to hold the coffee in a moment and preheat the cup.

[4]

Fill it with coffee powder. I suggest putting it in the position of scale two. The coffee powder should be flattened. It is best to buy the real pressure to press, Krups is recommended to use the back of the coffee spoon pressure. Basically, it's still pretty incredible advice (if you don't believe it, try it, it's not easy to press at all.)

The purpose of flattening is to let the level flow through all the coffee powder, otherwise the water will flow to the loose part. As a result, that part of the coffee will be over-extracted, while the good taste of the other part of the coffee has not yet come out. It adds up to rotten coffee.

In addition, in fact, no matter how careful it is, the water pressure of KrupsMini is basically uneven, so you can put filter paper as suggested by Arny.

[5]

Now it's time to officially start cooking, pack everything, be careful when loading water, don't forget that you have heated the machine, follow the safety instructions on the manual, decompress and then turn on the machine. The water can be placed happily, just don't exceed the metal ring of the measuring cup (not too fine, just make sure there is enough water to beat the milk). The lid should be closed with all its strength.

[6]

The basic rule is not to have coffee from beginning to end, so find a cup to pick up the unwanted coffee. First put the cup under the sprinkler, turn on the machine and wait. As soon as you start to drop a few drops, immediately change into the measuring cup, now the clock, when the coffee rises to the point where the measuring cup is marked with milk, it will be about 25 seconds. If you measure more than 25 seconds, you press too hard, or the beans are ground too fine. Less than 25 seconds, too loose or too thick beans. It is recommended that you practice the filling method several times, fix it, and only adjust the bean grinder if the time is not correct to reduce some variables.

(this is actually not very important in KrupsMini, see Arny's analysis for details.)

[7]

My suggestion is that you don't want the espresso after this (about a small cup at the milk mark)! That is, you probably use two portions of powder to make a coffee, but basically this is the way to maximize the efficiency of a non-pump machine like KrupsMini (Krups actually suggests this in their "TheEncyclopediaofCoffeeandEspresso")! It seems a bit wasteful to cook only one cup of two portions of beans like this. No, this can quickly use up the beans and keep them fresh. :) so change back to the cup that picked up the unwanted coffee and start beating milk.

Please refer to Arny's article on how to type. The point is that the perfect whatever connector is unplugged immediately. Then Arny's article focuses on the delicacy of milk foam, so you don't seem to have any foam when you play it.) In this way, the coffee may feel that there is not as much foam as the outside. In fact, I think this kind of cappuccino or latte is delicious! But if you really like performing a bunch of bubble cappuccino,Mini, of course you can do it! As long as you keep the sprinkler on the surface of the milk, if you touch it a little bit, it will hiss and there will be a pile of foam!

[8]

The final suggestion is to try more. Whether you like Cappuccino,Latte or whatever, it's best to drink pure espresso first and see how you're doing. Just one or two, don't abuse yourself too much.)
