Jinan Division of 2017 EIC Italian Coffee Championship Competition ends

On the morning of June 11th, the 2017 EIC Italian Coffee Championship (Jinan Division) kicked off in Jinan Shimao International Plaza. 15 baristas from all over the world competed for many rounds, and Liu Xinyu and Yu Zhouchao won. The atmosphere of the whole competition was stable without losing enthusiasm, providing Quancheng with a sensory feast full of coffee aroma.
It is understood that the Espresso Italiano Champion Italian Coffee Championship (EIC) is the only traditional Italian barista competition designed to convey the soul of Italian coffee and demonstrate the professional skills of Barista. EIC under the INEI specification, contestants must challenge to calibrate the bean grinder at the competition site, make traditional Italian coffee, and taste it by professional tasters.
It can be said that EIC is an individual competition for baristas, showing their enthusiasm and focus on coffee. During the competition, the contestants do not need to explain, just focus on making coffee.
EIC is sponsored by INEI International Italian Coffee Institute and IIAC International Italian Coffee Taste Association. Each division will select the only representative contestant to participate in the international competition in Italy. After the 2017 EIC competition has been completed in Guangzhou, Chengdu, Beijing, Shanghai and Haikou, the final station Jinan has also come to a successful conclusion. Next, the finalists of each station will compete in Guangzhou on July 28, 2017, and the final winner will go to Italy to compete with global baristas.
At the competition scene of 2017 EIC (Jinan Division), contestants from different regions and ages all showed the professional quality of professional baristas, and the audience was impressed by their steady performance, indifferent attitude and excellent skills. During the interval of the competition, the contestants gave a wonderful flower show, and the aroma of mellow coffee and exquisite patterns won the admiration of many audiences.
The reporter interviewed the contestants on the spot and found that they were first attracted by the fairness of the competition. All the contestants used designated coffee machines, bean grinders and designated coffee beans. They drew lots to determine the next contestant before playing. All the sensory judges are arranged to wait for the finished coffee score for the contestants in another relatively closed room, and each contestant's competition process will not be seen by the sensory judges, and the judges will not know which contestant is making the coffee; these elements reflect the playability of the whole competition.
The first K contestant to participate in the competition said in an interview that this is a tailor-made competition for professional coffee makers, but it is also a platform to share each other's knowledge with peers, a moment of self-growth, and the best place to show love for Italian coffee. From this point of view, enjoying the process is more important than the end result.
