Woolloomooloo Moonshiner

Woolloomooloo started as a coffee shop, and now its branches are scattered in downtown Taipei. Its scope has been expanded to include catering, exhibition space, grocery shopping, and accommodation, with all kinds of fun things done in one hand. Among them, the Ximen store, which is called for by movies, coffee and delicious food, has to shuttle back and forth in Ximenting alley, admiring the graffiti on the wall and carefully finding the door that is not obvious.

The first time I came here was because of the short film screening of the Urban Nomadic Film Festival. When I came to the second floor, I would be surprised that this small cinema is well equipped, just like a scaled-down version of a cinema. The curatorial exhibition with unique taste is a characteristic of Woolloomooloo. In addition to small film festivals with selected topics, their respective film selections are also quite excellent every month. I don't know the theme before I come to see a movie, and you can get a lot.

With such a large courtyard, there are chic plant decorations everywhere, creating a comfortable space full of green. Halfway coffee

Located near the Taiwan Power Building, I arrived at the coffee halfway hidden in the quiet alley in the evening. The store was about half full, mostly alone, and it was a space where I could get along well with myself. Unlike the independent bands used to hear in other cafes, the background music plays Thai songs with ups and downs. "since my work partner has recently returned from Thailand, the latest menu is also Thai food." The menu in the manager's mouth is also one of the interesting things about half-way coffee. The dishes here are different every night, depending on what the chef thought at that time, just like visiting a friend's house, natural and casual.

When asked why the movie was shown in the first place, when the movie was not in vogue in the coffee shop more than two years ago, "because it was fun!" A rise evolved into the origin of "halfway Movie Day". Up to now, it has become a regular activity, and a group of familiar faces have been cultivated, and the films selected by Patton, the person in charge of the film reading grottoes, are all kinds of grotesque films that have not been on the big screen in Taiwan. He has a collection of thousands of films from all over the world (even Kim Jong Il's films), and the selection is sometimes an expression of Patton's mood or an association of current events, and audiences here every week seem to be fed. A small piece of film was extracted from his vast film database and pieced together to become his own nutrition.
