The Southwest Division of the 2017 China barista skills Competition has begun.

The Chinese barista skills contest, referred to as "China Coffee Competition", is a domestic coffee industry professional competition sponsored by the Coffee Bean Branch of China Fruit Circulation Association and strongly supported by Tianfu Commodity Exchange under the guidance of the Circulation Industry Promotion Center of the Ministry of Commerce.
The 2017 Zhongjia Southwest Division, hosted by Chengdu Coffee Western Food Association (chip), was held at the baking exhibition of Chengdu New International Convention and Exhibition Center on 6.22l23. Ms. Fu Jingya, Secretary General of Coffee Bean Branch of China Fruit Circulation Association, Mr. Huang Bingquan, Vice President of Kitchen Industry Branch of all-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, Mr. Wang Hui, General Manager of Haiming International Exhibition Group, and Ms. Liang Ting, Secretary General of Chengdu Coffee and Western Food Association (chips), attended the opening ceremony. Fu Jingya, secretary general of the coffee bean branch of the China Fruit Circulation Association, and Huang Bingquan, vice president of the kitchenware branch of the all-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, made opening speeches.
After two days of fierce competition, under the strict selection of professional judges from the mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan, 17 baristas from Chengdu and Chongqing won the first and second runner-up and the winner: Huang Yiqin of Chengdu Star Shengshi Company; runner-up: Panzhihua Banoke Coffee Wang Yijun The second runner-up: Zhu Xiaoqin of Chengdu Star Shengshi Company, representing the southwest barista to compete for the national championship in the finals of Changsha in September this year.

The 2017 China Food and Beverage Expo 2017 (Changsha), hosted by the Ministry of Commerce, has four sub-divisions and one finals, namely, Jiangsu-Suzhou, Guangdong-Dongguan, Sichuan-Chengdu and Liaoning-Dalian.
At present, the China barista skills Competition is the only high-end coffee professional competition named after "China". Under the principle of fairness, impartiality and openness, following the current trend of popular drinks to improve the profitability of cafes, in the competition setting, in addition to the production of hand-brewed coffee and cappuccino coffee, the competition content of creative drinks is added to the competition. It has injected distinct characteristics of the Chinese coffee industry into the competition.
According to the organizer, after examination and approval by the organizing committee of the competition, a total of 17 contestants were qualified for the southwest division competition, and 17 contestants completed the competition within two days of June 22 and 23. In the competition, each contestant needs to make 4 cups of hand coffee, 4 cups of cappuccino and 4 cups of creative drinks within 20 minutes.
