As more and more people drink coffee in China, more and more cafes open, more and more people gradually begin to understand and try this "bitter name" drink. And quite a few of them are already deeply addicted to it...

That's us!

Coffee drinking may also help you live longer, according to two large new international studies, though another school of scholars questions that.

1

the first study

The first study, conducted by the International Centre for Research on Cancer (IARC) and Imperial College London, surveyed more than half a million people in 10 European countries.

Studies show that people who drink about three cups of coffee a day tend to live longer than those who do not drink coffee. The researchers described the survey as the largest analysis of coffee drinking effects in a European population.

"We found that higher coffee intake was associated with a lower risk of death from all types of diseases, particularly circulatory and digestive diseases," said study lead author Marc Gunter of the International Center for Research on Cancer.

2

the second study

The second study included more than 180,000 people of all ethnic backgrounds in the United States.

The study found that both normal and decaffeinated caffeine helped people live longer; coffee drinkers had a lower risk of death from heart disease, cancer, stroke, diabetes and respiratory and kidney disease.

"We can't say coffee drinking helps prolong life, but we found an association," said lead author Veronica Setiawan, associate professor of preventive medicine at the Keck School of Medicine of USC.

questioned

Experts who were not involved in the two latest studies called for careful interpretation of the findings.

Experts warn that the U.S. and European studies, published in Annals of Internal Medicine, do not show coffee is the real reason why many coffee drinkers seem to live longer.

Both studies were observational in nature, meaning that while they showed an association between coffee drinkers and a tendency to live longer, they lacked proof of cause and effect.

For example, the European study excluded people with a history of cancer, heart disease or diabetes, suggesting that the people over 35 years old assessed in the study were generally healthy.

The study also asked respondents about their coffee intake only once in the early stages and did not update the data during an average of 16 years of follow-up.

Finally, although the study found that women's heavy coffee consumption seemed to be associated with a higher risk of cancer death, it downplayed the finding as "probably untenable."

The "experts" on both sides are torn apart. We eat melons and the masses watch it very lively ~

In fact, looking deeper, it is nothing more than different people's different interpretations of the study caused by the deviation of views.

The people who preach that coffee is good are not necessarily coffee sellers. There are some who really like coffee. Of course, there will also be some honest and serious people who hold "pertinent" opinions.

Most of the people who preach "coffee is harmful" are people who don't like coffee, or people who have been "hurt" by coffee once. Of course, they don't rule out people who sell other drinks.

The truth is...

The study also pointed out that people who do not drink coffee do not necessarily die early, and drinking coffee all day does not necessarily lead to a few years of life. Coffee is good, but in moderation. Scientists suggest that four eight-ounce cups of coffee a day would be better.

Coffee isn't all good, either. It can still have some downsides, including restlessness, arrhythmia and, in some cases, digestive problems. If it is really not suitable for coffee drinkers, you can not love, please do not hurt.
