Research groups in Europe and the United States respectively found that people who drank coffee regularly lived longer. The two results were published on the 10th in the Journal of the American National Academy of Science.

The European survey was conducted by a research team at Imperial College London, with more than 520000 people from 10 countries. The results showed that the more coffee you drank, the lower the risk of death.

In the US survey of aborigines, African Americans, Hawaiians, Japanese, Hispanics and whites, people who drank two to four cups of coffee a day had an 18% lower risk of death than those who did not drink coffee.

After the study was published, researchers at the University of Southern California School of Medicine said the findings were consistent with previous surveys that focused on whites.

According to the survey, there may be a biological link between coffee and longevity. The results showed that the risk of death from heart disease, cancer, respiratory disease, cerebral stroke, diabetes and kidney disease was negatively correlated with coffee consumption.

On the other hand, in the European survey, there was a negative correlation between liver disease, male suicide, cancer, digestive system disease, circulatory disease and coffee drinking in women. People who drank more than three cups of coffee a day had a lower risk of death than those who did not drink coffee.

Different races and countries drink coffee in different ways. But they all show the same results. British researchers pointed out that "rather than making coffee and drinking coffee, it is more important to explore the relationship between coffee itself and longevity."
