Tim Wendelboe, the Norwegian coffee god, came to Guangzhou for the first time on Friday to meet with a large number of fans. Tim, who came with titles such as the 2004 World Barista Competition, the 2005 World Cup Test Competition and the Fifth Nordic Cup Baking Competition, seemed quite easygoing. He shared his experience with the baristas at the scene and encouraged young Chinese baristas to participate in world competitions.

Tim told reporters that the coffee culture in Norway is very strong, and coffee plays the same role in local life as tea does in China. And most of the local people drink black coffee. The average Norwegian consumes 9 kilograms of coffee beans a year, while China's figure is only 19 grams. Tim believes that China's coffee market is very young and has great potential.

Tim said he did not want to be identified as the "world baristas champion" all the time, and at the meeting last week, he modestly said that he won the world championship because there were fewer participants in the World Series that year. He encouraged Chinese baristas to take part in more competitions and gain experience.

He also shared his experience in roasting "coffee beans that suit him". He revealed that his favorite coffee flavor is black coffee made from Kenyan coffee beans.
