In the study, the researchers analyzed survey data from 520000 people from 10 European countries, including the frequency and amount of coffee they drank, and tested their liver and metabolic function, as well as their risk of heart disease.

They found that those who drank the most coffee per day drank an average of 855 milliliters and had a 12% lower risk of dying from disease than those who did not drink coffee during the 16-year follow-up.

The researchers also found that caffeine in coffee may also be related to how long people live. This may be because caffeine in coffee can reduce the formation of scar tissue in the liver. And coffee itself may help reduce fat accumulation and inflammation, thereby preventing the formation of fatty liver.
