Drinking coffee has become an indispensable part of modern life. Students from the Department of Food Management of Taipei City University of Science and Technology participated in the international catering competition held in South Korea a few days ago, winning two gold medals, one silver and four bronze medals under the participation of contestants from more than 10 countries (including regions). Liao Jiawei, a senior in the food management department, took part in the hand-brewing coffee competition, which brought the sweet and sour taste of Yejiaxue coffee beans. After entering the throat, it also exudes the sweet aroma of Ceylon black tea, and the judges nodded again and again to win the gold medal.

"2017 Korea WACS International Catering Competition" is sponsored by KDBA Korea Food and Fruit Association and CBS TV Station, and co-organized by the British City&Guilds Asia Hub Yanchai Dong AT Convention and Exhibition Center and the Korean Cooking skills Association. The competition is held at the 2nd Exhibition Hall of the Yun Cai Dong AT Center in Seoul. Every year, it attracts contestants from Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Australia, Macau, Malaysia and the Philippines. The results were announced last night.

The "Coffee Research Society" composed of students from the Department of Food Management of Taipei City University of Science and Technology was established three years ago, and its members participated in the WACS International Catering Competition in South Korea. Zhao Yanxun, a junior from the Food Management Department, took part in the "Coffee Competition" and won the gold medal with the theme of "Rose". Liao Jiawei also won the gold medal in the "hand Coffee Competition".

Zhao Yanxun said that for this competition, he practiced continuously throughout the summer vacation, having to practice at least 4 or 50 cups of coffee a day until the coffee was not too hot or too cold, and he could finish it in one mouthful. "when you practice like this, your hands are very relaxed." there will also be a smile on the face. "the key to winning the gold medal is to make the roses feel clear, clean and well-defined, and the judges fully feel the heat and taste of the coffee cup when they taste it. When the conference announced that he had won the gold medal, he happily called his parents and told them that this was his first gold medal and that his parents supported him in his future career.

Liao Jiawei successfully persuaded the taste buds of the judges to win the gold medal in this hand-brewing coffee competition. he said that the three-stage water method was used to extract the flavor of the coffee, the second stage to extract the coffee level, and the third stage to adjust the thickness. as a result, it can bring out the unique berry and citrus flavor of this coffee head, and let the judges drink the sweet and sour taste of coffee beans, and finally, the sweetness of Ceylon black tea spreads out in the throat. Although there was a language gap with the judges, when he saw the judges drinking his coffee, he kept nodding, and he was very moved. (Xu Minrong / reporting from Taipei)
