Old-school apartment blocks with a concentration of elderly residents and dark alleys should not be specially patronized by young people, will they? In the meantime, I looked up at either the stiff anti-theft window or the extended clothes rack, the walls were gray and bleak, and even the shop signs not far away had no sense of beauty, but it was such an apartment building built in the 1980s that there was a wooden cafe-Pause Cafe.

Pause Caf é is a newly opened contemporary cafe designed by architecture company FANAF. Although its own positioning is obviously in line with the younger, but its location shows that it is very different.

Located in an area popular with international students near Nanjing University, even if it seems out of place with its surroundings, Pause Caf é does not prevent it from turning such a sense of contrast into an advantage. Black and bamboo are the main themes of the cafe. After a short flight of stairs, there is a wood-covered porch and an entire door wall completely covered in black. The indoor environment is simple and bright, with a thick wooden bar, black cabinets, blackboards and benches in good order, with bamboo art chandeliers, highlighting a quiet atmosphere.

The dining and rest area is located around the corner, opens the folded black-framed glass door, and has access to a small outdoor area. Although indoor and outdoor look like two different worlds, the daily definition is unlimited, and there may be a completely different feeling here.
