WBC, whose full name is World Barista Championship, is translated into Chinese for the World Coffee Competition, organized by WCE (World Coffee Events, the World Coffee Competition), a joint sub-association of SCAA (American Coffee Association) and SCAE (European Coffee Association). WCE regularly holds worldwide coffee competitions such as WBC, WBrC (coffee brewing competition), WCR (coffee roasting competition) and WCTC (cup test competition) every year. WBC focuses on the popularity of global Italian coffee, and the players are also from all over the world, which makes WBC the most eye-catching competition.

In the WBC competition, contestants must bring their own roasted coffee beans, as well as some utensils (scales, cups, etc.), use the Italian machine and bean grinder provided on the spot, and make Italian coffee while explaining to the judges. The more the coffee is in line with the flavor described by the barista and the more fluent the barista performs at the bar, the higher the score may be.
