In coffee geography, China and the United States mainly refer to the Central American isthmus from Mexico in the north to Panama in the south. China and the United States from north to south: Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama-- with a total area of 2.5 million square kilometers, less than 1/3 of Brazil, but on such a small piece of land, there are three countries among the top ten coffee producers in the world, although they are all small countries, but each country has its own characteristics. Respectively occupy their respective seats in the world boutique coffee.
It is well known that Africa is the hometown of coffee, and South America is called the second hometown of coffee because of the coffee giant Brazil, so Central America can be called the "third world" of coffee. Coffee was first introduced in the 1820s, while coffee cultivation in Central American countries such as Costa Rica and Guatemala mainly began in the 1840s. Coffee production in Honduras started late but rapidly became the tenth largest coffee producer in the world. and such a small piece of land can rapidly develop into the "third world" of coffee, Central America has its own unique conditions.
The first is the suitable climate in the tropics. Coffee producing areas are concentrated between 10 degrees north latitude and the Tropic of Cancer, sufficient light and precipitation, the average annual temperature of more than 10 degrees in the tropics, away from the threat of frost, are the basic conditions for coffee growth.

Higher altitude. The Cotilla Mountains stretch through Central America and form many highlands and mountains. Most coffee producing areas are located at a height of more than 1000 meters, with hard beans and rich flavor, so the coffee grades of Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica and other countries are based on altitude.

Fertile volcanic ash soil. It belongs to the zone of dense volcanic distribution and frequent activity in the circum-Pacific volcanic belt. The volcanic ash soil formed by active volcanoes, large and small, provides rich nutrients for the growth of coffee, which is unparalleled in other producing areas. Guatemala Antigua enjoys the reputation of "smoke coffee" because of its unique volcanic smoky taste.

Plenty of labor. Here is densely populated, coffee production is mostly produced by small and medium-sized plantations, especially in recent years, with the promotion of boutique coffee sports and coffee events, there have been a number of small estates of boutique coffee beans.
