During the two-week "vacuum period", autistic teenagers received attention from all walks of life.

Shanghai Jade Buddha Temple also said that the teahouse on North Shaanxi Road can be rebuilt to make coffee for children, so that children can have a place to study as soon as possible. Cao Xiaoxia, founder of Love-Coffee, said: "when I saw this elegant teahouse, I really didn't have the heart to modify it." However, autistic teenagers have been given a special opportunity to learn at the Jade Buddha Temple. When the mothers of autistic teenagers heard the good news, they all burst into tears.

A group of children who have never left their parents spent a full week in the Jade Buddha Temple. Get up at 06:30 in the morning, do morning exercises, learn tea ceremony, Sinology, brush calligraphy, painting and so on. Master Huijue of the Jade Buddha Temple personally directed the course, communicated with parents many times, and held a meeting every night to sum up for fear of wronging the children.

There are also caring enterprises that provide a variety of practical experience opportunities. SAIC Shanghai Culture Plaza also provides a two-week transition place for autistic teenagers to learn to operate the new coffee machine under the guidance of baristas in the Yuansheng Cafe in the Culture Square.

The purpose of opening a coffee shop is to enable them to better integrate into society.

Lonely Cafe needs a long-term mechanism

In the survey report on autism, there are more than 10 million people with autism in China alone. Due to the lack of understanding and cognitive ability, after compulsory education, they can no longer continue to study in high school, but can only engage in some mechanical jobs with unstable income, stereotyped and repetitive.

In fact, traditional employment programs for people with disabilities are not suitable for people with autism because the working environment and care model required by people with autism are different from those of people with physical disabilities. Relatively speaking, in developed countries, there has been a relatively formed employment model for people with autism, such as simple meals, handicrafts and other places with low labor intensity, relaxed environment and flexible working hours. One thing that can not be ignored is that people with autism will have a certain degree of contact with the public in these places, which will not only help them integrate into society, but also help the public understand them, accept them and offer love.

The ultimate goal of education and treatment for people with autism is to enable them to integrate into society to a certain extent and be able to take care of themselves, and society should also provide a living and working space that can accept them. The employment place of autistic patients after adulthood still belongs to the exploratory stage in China. Although the problem of providing for the aged of autistic patients has not yet emerged, it will eventually face in the foreseeable future.

The closed-door incident of "Lonely Cafe" seems to be an isolated incident, but it is not. Shanghai Lonely Cafe will open in five days (May 25). The new location is about 200 square meters on the first floor of Shanghai Youth activity Center, as well as classrooms, stages and squares.
