Coffee beans are the fruit seeds of Rubiaceae coffee trees. Because the fruit looks like a red cherry, it is often called COFFEE CHERRY. After the peel, pulp, endocarp, silver skin and other parts of the fruit are removed, the raw coffee beans can be obtained and the output operation can be started. Coffee takes about three years from the beginning of planting to harvest. From flowering to fruiting, according to the characteristics of Arabica coffee beans, it takes half a year to nine months to mature, and when the coffee beans mature, they must be harvested within 2 weeks.

The cultivation of coffee is mainly distributed in the coffee belt, including the tropical areas between the equator and the 25th latitude. Nowadays, there are more than 60 countries growing coffee in the world. In terms of total coffee consumption, Japan ranks third in the world, with raw bean suppliers including Brazil, Colombia and more than 40 countries. The taste of coffee varies greatly depending on the origin and variety of coffee and the methods of processing and refining. Under what background was it planted? Just tasting a cup of coffee contains a lot of esoteric stories.

The process of making coffee beans

1. Raising seedlings: coffee beans will germinate in about 1.5 to 2.5 months after they are planted in the nursery. When the seedlings reach 30~40cm, they can be moved to the soil ridge. Continue to plant in places that will not be exposed to direct sunlight.

two。 Mature trees: the seedlings that grow up are moved to agricultural land to continue to be planted. It will grow up in about 3 years and begin to bear fruit. Since the fourth year, the output has gradually increased, and proper care can sustain the harvest for 20-30 years.

3. Flowering: when the coffee tree grows up, it will produce pure white flowers. The small white flowers are characterized by their jasmine-like aroma, leaving the garden shrouded in white and sweet flowers.

4. The result: after the flowers have withered, they will produce green coffee fruit. After waiting for 6 to 8 months, the fruit begins to plump and slowly changes from green to red. It is called "COFFEE CHERRY" because it looks like a cherry in appearance or color.

5. Harvest: use a large number of manpower, one by one to pick by hand. If it is difficult to pick fruit from high places, use ladders to assist, or shake branches to get fruit. Most of the producing areas in the harvest, are the choice of manual picking operation.

6. Refining: the main processing methods of coffee beans are washed and natural. According to the climatic conditions, the drying methods are roughly divided into sun drying and machine drying.

7. Manual sorting: after picking out undesirable or defective beans by the sorting machine, raw beans will be graded according to their size, shape and specific gravity. After that, more elaborate sorting operations will be carried out again by hand.

8. Cup test: raw coffee beans will be tested by local agricultural associations or refining factories to confirm that there is no problem with their aroma and taste, and to determine whether the coffee beans meet the export specifications before shipping to local orderers.
