The full name of the French pressure pot is called the practice type filter pressure kettle. it is said that it was originally invented by the French, and it also has a resounding Chinese name-tea maker! Hey! I'm sure you're no stranger to it, right? In fact, it is originally a brewing device for isolating tea or coffee grounds, but coffee brewing requires higher density and isolation of the filter. So say-- as long as you can make tea, you will use it to make coffee! There is no need to learn the method at all!
At present, there are many kinds of tea makers on the market, and their prices range from hundreds to dozens of yuan, and some even sell for 20 yuan. Of course, the value determines the price-- but more importantly, the French presser that specializes in brewing coffee can be used to make tea. but not all of the tea makers can be used to make coffee. We can understand the reason by understanding its structure.
The structure of the pressure kettle can be seen from the picture above: one is the glass kettle body, the other is the filter net connected with the pot lid. Because hot water above 90 °is used to make tea, especially coffee, a good pressure kettle must be processed with high-temperature-resistant high-quality glass, and since coffee beans are ground into much finer than tea particles, the pressure pot requires that the mesh of the filter screen is more fine and uniform, and the better the fit between the filter screen and the glass pot, that is, the smaller and tighter the gap between the filter screen and the glass kettle during filtration, the more complete the filtration of coffee powder. Otherwise, the coffee liquid is easy to mix with coffee powder so that the taste is not pure enough.
So, there are so many tea makers on the market, what kind of tea maker is good? How should I choose and buy? According to the above, one is to look at the material of the glass, which should be resistant to high temperature and thick and solid, and the other is to see whether the material and texture of the filter screen are strong enough, whether the mesh is uniform and dense, gently press it, and see whether the filter pressure net and the kettle body are tight. I believe that friends who have bought tea sets will know it at a glance. Of course, if you pursue quality or believe in brand recognition, there are several good brands: one is Swiss bodum, the other is Japanese hario, the former is a historical brand of French kettle, and the latter is known as the king of glass, so its production of French kettle is not ordinary.

At present, the price of the small hario pressure pot on the market is about 180. the vacuum is relatively expensive. Bodum has more styles, and the price varies. Of course, there is also a full series, that is, a pot with multiple cups, both for tea and coffee.
Having said so much about utensils, is there a standard for the specific operation of the pressure kettle? In fact, like making tea, personal taste is different, so is brewing coffee, and the concentration of coffee and the temperature of the extracted water will be different, but the pressure kettle should pay attention to a little thicker when grinding coffee powder, which is thicker than hand soaking and siphon, which is about equal to the coarseness of three to two millet grains.
However, the ratio of coffee powder to water in the picture is 10g coffee powder to 180cc water, which belongs to a relatively light taste. According to your personal preference, the concentration of 100--180cc water per 10g powder is OK, and the brewing time had better not be too long, as the bitter taste of the brewed coffee will be too strong and too dull. In short, the French kettle is a super-simple "lazy man coffee". As long as you master the method and use fresh and high-quality coffee beans, you can definitely make a good cup of coffee at home!
