My classmates in the marketing department asked me to send a simple and rude notice for the opening of a new store in Beijing, which is the kind of poster + store photo + promotional advertisement. After thinking about it, I'd better take this opportunity to write more. I hope it's the kind of feeling that brings old friends together again.

Twenty years ago, when I was a student in Seattle, I opened a window coffee shop for students and teachers near the bus stop near the university. it lasted for more than three years and moved to California after graduation. When I returned to Beijing in 2007, when boutique coffee was sprouting in California, the idea of having a good cup of coffee in Beijing was lingering in my mind.

On August 5, 2010, the first FISHEYE fisheye coffee was born in Beijing Sanlitun Village (now Taiguri). In addition to displaying and selling LOMO film cameras, the store also provides film development and scanning services. The design was extremely bold and advanced at that time with a bright blue-and-white design and a long table that no one had ever used at that time.

That year, Sina Weibo just started to test operation; there is no such thing as Wechat; not to mention Meituan, ele.me, Baidu takeout, a cup of coffee to go out for a walk; people enjoy "street side" check-in; BlackBerry is a top business smartphone; Motorola is still launching new products every year; Apple Store online store is officially launched in China. There are no all kinds of shooting filters on the phone, so for a cool effect, you need to use a film camera like LOMO; eight years ago, FISHEYE launched lattes, hand-made, freshly roasted boutique garden-grade coffee beans, and cold-extracted coffee is exclusive to the capital. Almost no one has ever heard of boutique coffee, single hand-brewed coffee.

In order to ensure the quality of the coffee, we went back to San Francisco to try the top 20 local coffee shops with self-baked beans, and finally chose a bean called Ritual Coffee (now one of the Big three boutique coffee in the Bay area of California). After a few months of email communication, their boss came to Beijing with his training director, Ben Kaminsky (the three-time coffee cup test champion in the United States), and this was their first visit to China.

They stayed in Beijing for a month, designing coffee products and menus together. Since then, the coffee beans they baked in San Francisco every Monday have been airlifted to Beijing on the same day. At that time, I didn't think too much about it, and the goal was one: my friend and I could have good coffee in Beijing. Until 2012, we set up our own professional coffee roasting factory, from the source of the industry chain to ensure that the coffee our guests drink is more fresh and of higher quality.

At FISHEYE's first store, we experienced more than 20 full live unplugged music, we saw four pairs of coffee shop guests propose, and we witnessed an iced latte baby who was still drinking coffee with her mother.

We are back, for 8 years, a cup of honest and warm coffee will always be our first intention. We don't need celebrity endorsements. Sometimes the temperature of a good cup of coffee can't be replaced by advertisements and fancy words. We hope that you, our guest, will speak for us.
