Coffee and Human Health Calcium and Coffee
Are you a "low calcium" group? Chinese people's daily calcium intake should reach 1000 milligrams to meet the body's needs. In general, it seems that only adult women need calcium supplements, but in fact, adequate calcium intake is even more important, such as growing children, pregnant women, breast-feeding women, the elderly and those who want to "lose weight."
What are the benefits of calcium to the human body? Calcium is the principal component of teeth and bones, prevents osteoporosis, helps control weight, and reduces cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension and arteriosclerosis.
Calcium has many benefits to the human body, how to increase calcium intake in daily life? The ways are: ①, increase the use of dairy products when cooking, such as steaming eggs can add milk. ②, the right amount of protein, no more than four servings a day (about one or two servings of protein). ③, soup can add a little lemon or vinegar, increase the release of calcium is conducive to calcium absorption. ④, proper sun exposure, three times a week for 10-15 minutes each time. ⑤, eat more calcium-rich foods, such as dairy products, scallions, dried fish, sesame, bean products, Chinese wolfberry, raisins, nine-layer tower, lotus seeds, black dates, red dates and so on.
In addition, some people believe that drinking coffee is a risk factor for osteoporosis; in fact, the causes of osteoporosis include calcium and protein intake, smoking, exercise habits, age and weight. In order to gain insight into the relationship between caffeine intake and osteoporosis, a 1994 Barrett Connor study showed that researchers must carefully grasp every variable, and caffeine intake affects bone mineral density reduction; but this only happens to women who are limited to one glass of milk a day as adults. According to this study and common sense, coffee can only indirectly cause a lack of calcium balance. In 1995, professors Barger-Lux and Heaney concluded from an analysis of data obtained by 190 women that one glass of milk provided enough calcium to offset the negative effects of eight cups of caffeine. This conclusion highlights the fact that caffeine is not a high risk factor for osteoporosis, but inadequate calcium intake is the main cause.
