Sulawesi coffee
The main producing areas of coffee beans in Indonesia (Southeast Asia) are Sumatra, Java and Sulawesi. Sulawesi is one of the largest islands in Indonesia.
Sulawesi (Celebes) Sulawesi, the former Dutch colony of Sulawesi, formerly known as Celebes (rapids), was named after a sailor was stranded here in 1511 because a sailor was caught in a severe storm at sea, but the present name is due to the fact that Sulawesi was rich in iron ore in the southeast of the island, so it combines the Indonesian word for Sula and Wesi. That is, it became the origin of the place name now known as Sulawesi.
Due to the compression of the landmass, the average height of the island is about 500 meters above sea level. Sulawesi is located in the east of Indonesia and is divided into two provinces: North Sulawesi and South Sulawesi. On the island of Sulawesi, farmers put coffee cherries picked in the sun until half-dry, then add water and stir them into a paste. The coffee pretended in this way has an herbal flavor. Sulawesi coffee is also famous for its rich taste and complex texture and is a precious coffee variety in great demand. Although the coffee produced in Sulawesi accounts for 7% of the coffee produced in Indonesia, the demand for this coffee in the market is very high, resulting in a situation where supply exceeds demand.
Sulawesi's large "kalossii" coffee beans, a Sumatran variety of iron pickup (Sumatra Typica Varietal), are semi-washed (Semi-washed process) and have a very full-bodied and mellow flavor. The acidity of the coffee is relatively low, and the flavor is similar to that of the famous Sigri of New Guinea. Among the many tastes of spleen, try Celebes Kalosi coffee. The "Toraja" produced in the Traga area (elevation 1200 meters) in the southwestern mountain region is its representative.
Like other Indonesian coffee beans, Sulawesi coffee beans have diverse, full-bodied, deep and rich aromas, extremely low acidity, gentle and smooth, and slightly sweet. Sulawesi is the most elegant Indonesian coffee bean with strong earth flavor, smooth and rich taste with leisurely herbal flavor.
Coffee from Sulawesi can be Indonesian jewelry. All the coffee produced here comes from Tibica old tree, and the unique wet processing makes the raw coffee beans here appear as a unique dark cyan large-grained coffee. Low acidity, high mellowness, and clean overall style are all characteristics of Sulawesi coffee. The boutique coffee here is grown on a small family farm at an altitude of 1600-1800 meters. Its unique rustic flavor, herbal aroma and honey-like aftertaste can be found in Sulawesi boutique coffee.
