Grow coffee in Uganda

Mount Elgang is located in the eastern part of the country, straddling the border between Uganda and Kenya. Judging from its huge base, Mount Elgon was once considered to be the highest mountain in Africa. The aroma of coffee extends from the cliff and uses natural ditches and forest cover to extract water from the soil. Sipi Falls is a major natural attraction in the Elgon region, where coffee is produced, and small coffee farmers grow between 1600 and 1900 meters. During the rainy season, this is a steep and difficult terrain-there is usually no road, only a dirt road washed away by Rain Water.

The Bagisu people who live in the mountains have become experts in coffee cultivation and have developed their own mode of transportation-donkeys!

It is worth noting that this is currently the only certified organic coffee from Uganda, which is also Utz Kapeh certified. This coffee is very different from other East African coffee: it is full-bodied, full-bodied, less acidic than its neighboring coffee producing areas, and has a rural flavor. It is more reminiscent of the Indonesian cup than citric acid and acidic coffee from Kenya.
