We want to launch 2019 Christmas coffee! Maybe you remember last year's Las Delicias, the super delicious Java from Nicaragua. This year, not only will we receive it again, but we will also receive several bags of naturally processed it, which we think will be a super delicious holiday treat!
About Eleane Mierisch and Las Delicias
The Mierisch family produces a wide variety of coffee, with dozens of different varieties, trying different processing methods for accurate and thorough processing. This coffee is not only good, but also delicious. But as you know, delicious coffee doesn't come out of thin air. Las Delicias is owned by Elaine Milish (Eleane Mierisch). Elaine is one of the leaders in the Nicaraguan coffee processing industry. The reason why the coffee of the Mierisch family is so sweet is largely due to their excellent processing skills, and Elaine is in charge of the work. In Nicaragua, the "process manager" is a male-dominated position. She comes from a prestigious coffee family and has several farms in Honduras and Nicaragua, but Las Dracias is her first farm, which is her second harvest. The taste and sweetness remind us of Bolivian tastes, just like drinking chocolate. From Java varieties, we get more vitality and citrus and apricot flavors, but with natural processing, we taste more passionflower and fudge.
Las Delias is located in the Genotega region, with an average elevation of 1450 meters, which is considered by Nicaragua to be very high. It is located next to another Mierisch farm, so Eleane knows the area very well, as well as the land and its production capacity. In addition to her knowledge of the area, there is also her love of coffee, and then you can begin to understand why she wants to produce coffee on her own farm. The farm has 20 manzanas (about 13 hectares), all of which grow coffee. Elaine respected nature so much that she said, "Thank you, Mother Nature."
The coffee grown in Las Dracias is the mother plant of the Java coffee we bought from La Linda, Bolivia. Seedlings from Las Delicias are brought to Roudriguez'La Linda to try a new variety in Bolivia because it offers such delicate and sweet cups in Nicaragua. This grape variety is often called raspberry because it looks like raspberry-berries and seeds (beans) are long and thin. However, it is often referred to as Java. The coffee, which is common in Nicaragua, is washed directly on the farm and separated by density before being trucked to a processing plant. At the processing station, the coffee is dried on the fruit seedbed.
Sustainability.
The Mierisch family is very active in the social activities around the farm. Not only do they have a full-time kitchen team making breakfast and lunch on their farm, and 1000 tacos go out every day. They also set up day-care centers and schools for workers on the farm. In Nicaragua, it is common for children to help their families on farms, but they are asked to go to school or leave their children to work with janitors. These workers can also get family planning and medical help from professionals.
