Coffee keeps your brain healthy. Men who drink three cups of coffee a day suffer the least mental decline as they age, a decade-long study has found.
Researchers analyzed mental decline in older men over a decade. 676 men from a number of European countries took part in the test to see how coffee affected familiarity. Men who drank no coffee at all lost four times more intelligence than those who drank three cups a day. One theory to explain this phenomenon is that caffeine may enhance memory by acting on brain receptors. High blood pressure patients are prescribed coffee. The National Institutes of Health is testing whether drinking two cups of coffee a day helps lower blood pressure.
Coffee can produce certain effect to hypertensive patient, make its pancreas secretes a certain amount of insulin. Insulin helps control blood sugar levels. Although exactly how coffee works is unclear, scientific research has shown that coffee contains flavanols, which have certain benefits for the blood circulation system and can improve insulin sensitivity.
