Arabica, synonymous with premium coffee

Arabica accounts for about 70% of the world's coffee production, and most of the coffee beans we call "raw beans" in daily life are Arabica varieties. Arabica coffee is considered synonymous with premium coffee beans because of its attractive aroma and rich flavor. This coffee characteristic is closely related to its cultivation environment.

Ethiopia's plateau is the origin of Arabica species, probably Arabica species in the equatorial plateau, it is neither heat nor cold, only in the annual average temperature maintained at 15-25℃ can be cultivated.

Robusta, not just for instant coffee

Robusta species, first found in Congo. More tolerant of heat and humidity than arabica, it can be grown at lower elevations, where respiration is more active than photosynthesis. The sugar and other components produced by photosynthesis in this flatland plant are partly consumed in the production of coffee aroma and taste, and most of them are consumed in the formation of plant root and branch tissue. Such cultivation conditions give Robusta beans their inherent characteristics.

Robusta is generally used to make canned coffee and drink instant coffee. The main reason is the relatively low price compared to Arabica. In addition, there is a strong correlation with Robusta's bitter taste and good texture. Robusta coffee itself has a very good texture, and some aroma may be lost during processing, but some coffee that can enhance aroma can be added to make up for it, which can also reflect the freshness of coffee.
