Yunnan coffee main producing area ranking which kind of coffee beans best drink Yunnan small grain is Arabica varieties
Tea has a long history for China, but you know that we have been drinking coffee in China for more than a hundred years. It is just that it has not developed, and now Chinese coffee has also been valued and developed by the government, and the state has also promoted domestic products. at present, Yunnan coffee is also available in various cafes, and Chinese people also like Yunnan coffee in China. Instead of just pursuing imported coffee.
Of course, some people ask whether Chinese coffee is good or not. Qianjie believes that the reason why Yunnan coffee in China is now liked is that it has a unique flavor. If it doesn't taste good, will anyone like it? Of course, it is normal for everyone to have different tastes and like different tastes.

Yunnan is not only the largest producer of coffee in China, but also the best golden area for growing coffee. The western and southern parts of Yunnan Province are located between 15 °N and the Tropic of Cancer, most of which are 1000-2000 meters above sea level, and the topography is dominated by mountains and slopes. With fertile land, sufficient sunshine, rich rainfall and large temperature difference between day and night, the unique natural conditions have formed the particularity of Yunnan small seed coffee taste-strong but not bitter, fragrant but not strong, slightly fruity. In this area, four famous coffee producing areas and developed coffee industry have been born, bringing us world-famous high-quality domestic coffee.
Speaking of Yunnan coffee, in fact, as early as the 1950s, Yunnan small seed coffee was very popular in the international coffee market and was rated as the top grade of coffee. The history of coffee cultivation in Yunnan can be traced back to 1892. A French missionary brought coffee to Yunnan from abroad and successfully planted it in a valley in Binchuan County, Yunnan Province. More than 30 coffee plants from this batch of coffee seeds are still blooming and bearing fruit in Binchuan County.

Yunnan coffee was planted on a large scale in the mid-1950s, with a planting scale of 4000 hectares at one time. By the end of 1997, the planting area of coffee in the province had reached 7800 hectares. The planting area of the province accounts for 70% of the national area, and the output accounts for 83% of the whole country. Yunnan coffee has established its dominant position in China in terms of planting area and coffee bean production.
Yunnan coffee producing areas:

The main coffee-growing areas in Yunnan are distributed in Dehong, Pu'er, Lincang and Baoshan in the south and southwest of Yunnan.
Dehong
It has the laudatory name of "hometown of Chinese coffee". As of 2011, a total of 120900 mu of coffee has been developed and planted in the state, accounting for 30% of the total coffee planting area in the country. In the next 3 years, the planting area of coffee in Dehong Prefecture will reach 200000 mu. The coffee planting in Dehong Prefecture is above 1000 meters above sea level, of which 30, 000 mu are planted in the mountains above 1600 meters above sea level. in addition, the coffee grown in Dehong Prefecture mainly uses organic fertilizers and organic pesticides, resulting in high quality coffee. it is one of the rare high-quality coffee producing areas in the world.

Baoshan
Baoshan is the main growing area of small-grain coffee in Yunnan. The cultivation of coffee in Baoshan began in the mid-1950s, and the first coffee seedling was introduced by the late patriotic overseas Chinese Mr. Liang Jinshan in Southeast Asia. The local famous Lujiangba small grain coffee is of excellent quality. It was rated as first class in London, England as early as the late 1950s. In recent years, with the expansion of international trade, Lujiangba's small-grain coffee is more famous. Merchants in Europe, the United States, Egypt, Hong Kong and Macao, especially in Britain, the United States, Egypt, Hong Kong and Macao all regard it as the best coffee, and the products are in short supply. In December 2010, after being examined and approved by the General Administration of quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China, it was decided to implement the protection of national geographical indication products for "Baoshan small Coffee".

Lincang
Lincang City is located in the southwest of Yunnan Province, with the Tropic of Cancer running through the south, Pu'er in the east, Dali in the north, Baoshan in the west, and Myanmar in the southwest. It is a bright pearl in the southwest of the motherland because it is close to the Lancang River. The annual average temperature in Lincang ranges from 16.8 ℃ to 17.2℃. The dry and wet season is obvious and the sunshine is sufficient.

Qianjie Coffee took a fancy to this "green pearl on the border" and set up its own coffee farm in Lincang, growing the oldest Arabica variety, the iron pickup.
Qianjie 2013 Yunnan Sun Iron pickup truck comes from Qianjie Coffee Farm in Lincang producing area.
Pu 'er Tea
Tea village Pu'er has cultivated coffee for 150 years. At the end of 1990s, Pu'er City began to cultivate coffee as a dominant backbone industry to adjust the industrial structure and increase farmers' income. Coffee is grown in 54 townships (towns) in 9 counties and 1 district of Pu'er City.

Yunnan coffee varieties
Whether the coffee is good or not actually has a lot to do with the variety of coffee. At present, the main coffee varieties cultivated in Yunnan are Katim, Tippika, bourbon, Kaddura, Kaduai and so on. But almost all I see on the market is Katim. So now Yunnan small grain coffee refers to Yunnan Katim.

There are two varieties of Yunnan coffee in Qianjie coffee: one is Katim, such as Yunnan small grain coffee, and the other is iron pickup, such as Qianjie 2013 iron pickup.
Yunnan small grain coffee gets its name from iron pickup coffee, because the coffee bean of tin card variety is small, so it is named small grain. Qianjie has introduced to you that because of the high production capacity and strong disease resistance of Katim coffee varieties, many coffee growers cut down the tin card tree and plant Katim instead. At present, the planting area of Yunnan Katim variety is still large, and the variety of Yunnan small grain coffee is Katim variety.
Iron pickup Coffee Bean (typica): the most classic high-quality Arabica species, many commercial improved varieties are derived from this. Iron pickup coffee beans have excellent taste and are recognized as a boutique coffee variety, but the yield is very low and vulnerable to rust, so more manpower management is needed. Iron pickup coffee beans are native to Ethiopia and southeastern Sudan and are the most widely cultivated variety of coffee in the Western Hemisphere. The plant is stronger, but not light-tolerant, and the yield is higher in Hawaii. The top leaf of the iron pickup is red copper, which is called red top coffee.

In Qianjie, Yunnan Lincang Qianjie Coffee Farm grows a variety of iron pickup coffee.
Katim coffee beans (catimor): Katim is not pure Arabica pedigree, it is a hybrid of Timor (which belongs to Robbsta) and caturra (a variety of bourbon), so catimor has 25% robusta pedigree, and its Robusta pedigree also determines its taste defects: the aroma is not rich enough, and the overall taste is bitter, prone to astringent and more irritating mildew.

Bourbon Coffee Bean (bourbon): this variety is derived from the Iron pickup Coffee Bean, which was grown by the French on the island of Bourbon (now Reunion) in 1708. Bourbon also has a beautiful aroma and rich flavor, which is higher in yield and growth than iron pickup trucks. It is suitable for planting in an area of 1200 million meters, but it is less resistant to diseases and insect pests and is more sensitive to strong winds and heavy precipitation. Bourbon coffee is a variety of small-grain coffee second only to iron pickup. At first, the main branch and trunk grew upward at 45 degrees, and with the fruit load, the lateral branches were denser, the fruit was more, and the yield was higher. But the berries are smaller and ripen more slowly. The top bud and tender leaves of Bobang are green, called green-top coffee.
Yunnan coffee bean treatment method
The treatment of coffee beans is related to the actual local situation. Yunnan has an unstable climate in the rainy season all the year round, so most of the coffee beans in Yunnan are treated by washing.

However, the iron pickup coffee beans planted in Qianjie Coffee Manor adopted the method of sun treatment, in which the ripe coffee fruits were completely and evenly laid on the elevated bed for sun drying, and reacted to them from time to time, so as to avoid unpleasant fermentation caused by uneven drying. In addition, retain the intact fruit and let more sugars in the coffee fruit penetrate into the raw coffee beans, making the Qianjie coffee beans more fragrant and sweeter.

When the roaster of Qianjie Coffee received the raw beans of this coffee, he took into account the need to highlight its aroma and sweetness, as well as the taste of Yunnan small-grain coffee, so it adopted a moderate degree of roasting.
Suggestion on brewing coffee in Qianjie
For coffee brewing, Qianjie recommends using freshly roasted coffee beans for brewing, so that you can maximize the rich flavor of coffee. The coffee beans shipped in Qianjie are all roasted within 5 days, because Qianjie is well aware that the freshness of coffee beans has a great impact on the flavor. The purpose of Qianjie roasting is "freshly roasted coffee", so that every guest who places an order is the freshest coffee when he receives it. The bean cultivation period of coffee is about 4-7 days, so when the guest gets it, it is the time when the flavor is the best.

Of course, there are some customers who need help grinding powder in front of the street, which doesn't matter, but Qianjie has to warn: if the coffee beans are ground ahead of time, there is no need to raise the beans, because in the process of transportation, the pressure caused by carbon dioxide in the package can also make the coffee flavor mellow, so when you receive the coffee powder, you can immediately make a cup of coffee to drink. But the coffee powder needs to be brewed in time, because the coffee powder oxidizes more quickly after contact with the air, that is to say, the flavor of the coffee will dissipate more quickly, and the flavor of the coffee is not so good. Therefore, Qianjie suggests buying whole beans, grinding and flushing now, so that we can better taste the flavor of coffee.
Qianjie cooking parameters:
Filter cup: Hario V 60, water temperature: 88 ℃, powder content: 15g, ratio of powder to water: 1:15, degree of grinding: medium and fine grinding (Chinese standard No. 20 sieve pass rate 75%)

[Qianjie 2013Sun Iron pickup Coffee] has a thick, sour and sweet taste, with citrus and berry flavors, with a hint of fermented wine, caramel sweetness, creamy finish, black tea.

Yunnan small grain coffee, Yunnan Katim coffee and 2013 iron pickup coffee in Qianjie are all different in flavor; of course, there are many individual coffee beans from different producing areas in Qianjie, which can be compared with Yunnan coffee.
