Starbucks launches new features Starbucks sign language stores have several Starbucks first sign language stores where
Starbucks has developed many new features. For example, on May 21, 2019, Starbucks launched a new function of "online click, go to the store to pick up", called "Coffee Starbucks Now". In February 2020, Starbucks improved its previous "dedicated star delivery" delivery service and "Kaikai" mobile phone ordering service, and launched the "contactless Starbucks experience" to encourage customers to order online. Not long ago, Starbucks China Cafe officially launched WeChat Mini Programs, and also launched two new functions: "help TA Belt" and "Coffee Social experience Edition". As a leader in the coffee industry, Starbucks is always ahead of time in service.
Not long ago, Starbucks launched a new feature-Aira app convenient ordering.
This new feature is specifically developed to help the visually impaired and people with low vision.

It is said that the process of using this Aira app service is very simple. Users only need to download Aira app software to use it. App software will match a trained visual interpreter to connect with the user remotely. As long as the mobile phone camera is facing forward, the visual interpreter of the remote service will become the user's eyes and tell the user real-time information about the surrounding environment, such as whether there are obstacles ahead and how many meters away from Starbucks. Where to order, what new products are available in the store, what coffee is on the menu, and so on, so as to help the visually impaired to order at the counter smoothly.

Currently, Starbucks has partnered with Aira, a visually impaired assistance service, to launch this feature only in the United States and has won high praise among people with disabilities in the United States.
The Aira app convenience order, launched by Starbucks and Aira, is one of the new ways to improve accessibility. Starbucks has previously replaced menu pages with large font and Braille menus, as well as services such as transparent masks for Starbucks visually impaired employees.
Starbucks launched this series of services, in addition to providing barrier-free services for people with disabilities, on another level, this new service is also a new entrance for Starbucks, thus gaining access to the consumer market for people with disabilities.
In addition, in addition to launching a new convenient ordering service for the visually impaired, Starbucks has also launched a number of sign language stores.

So far, in order to achieve barrier-free communication between baristas and guests, Starbucks China has six sign language stores in Guangzhou, Beijing, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Chengdu and Qingdao.
In 2016, Starbucks opened the world's first Starbucks hearing impaired and friendly store in Malaysia, followed by its first full sign language store in the United States in Washington, D.C., on October 23, 2018.

Starbucks sign language Store in Malaysia
On May 19, 2019, Starbucks opened its first sign language store in China. The store is located in Dongfang Wende Square, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou. With 10 of its 17 staff members who are hard of hearing, the store has been hailed as Starbucks'"quietest coffee shop" and has since opened stores in Beijing, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Chengdu and Qingdao.

On September 3, 2020, Starbucks opened its first Starbucks sign language store in Beijing West Railway Camp Wanda. The first sign language store in Beijing has seven deaf employees, the vast majority of whom are post-90s.
On December 3, 2020, Starbucks opened its first Starbucks sign language store in Hangzhou. The store, located in Binjiang City Star in Hangzhou, has 14 partners, including 7 hearing impaired ones.
January 28, 2021: Starbucks opens its first sign language store in Shanghai, located in Huangpu Green City, with 12 partners, including 5 hearing impaired partners.
On February 24, 2021, Starbucks opened its first sign language store in Chengdu. The Starbucks sign language store has 13 partners, six of whom are hearing impaired.
On March 31, 2021, Starbucks opened its first sign language store in Qingdao, which is made up of five hearing impaired partners and eight good hearing partners.
It is not difficult to see that, like Aira app convenient ordering, Starbucks sign language stores also focus on providing services for people with disabilities. Starbucks provides a variety of auxiliary ways to communicate with hearing impaired partners in these special stores to easily achieve barrier-free ordering. For example, the intelligent voice assistant developed by Microsoft for Starbucks can convert customer voice into text in real time. There is a special double-sided order screen between the customer and the hearing impaired partner, which can present the content and customized details to both parties at the same time. Hearing impaired partners can also click on the preset questions on the screen to ask customers voice inquiries, and so on. To this end, some media said: Starbucks'"sign language stores" provide job opportunities for people with social disabilities. It has also created another culture of Starbucks coffee, spreading the sign language culture through coffee, providing love to society and creating a free space for people with disabilities.
