Starbucks will open a "Greener Store" in China, according to an article on Starbucks' website STARBUCKS STORIES & NEWS on Sept. 22, Starbucks Greener Stores accelerate global movement towards a more sustainable future.

This is Starbucks' first "green store" outside North America, and this "green store" is also the preferred place for many coffee brands to open stores-Shanghai, China. The focus of this first Starbucks "green store" outside North America is cycle.

Its "green store" in Shanghai is designed and built to reduce waste, improve utilization, and serve as a frequency for future innovation.

According to the official article, the existence of such "green stores" allows Starbucks to test and practice solutions that reduce waste on a scale, thus helping Starbucks achieve his Planet Positive goals of reducing carbon emissions, water consumption and landfills by 50 per cent.

The "Green Store" framework announced in 2018 that the project, jointly developed with the World wide Fund for Nature (WWF),  , aims to accelerate retail towards an environmentally friendly and low-emission direction to reduce carbon emissions, water use and landfills. Starbucks has opened more than 2300 "green stores" in North America in the United States and Canada, and will start using the framework outside North America to achieve its goal of building and renovating 10, 000 "green stores" worldwide by 2025.

Michael Michael Kobori, chief sustainability officer at Starbucks, said:'we start from the source of coffee to do something positive and friendly to the earth, and bring it to our stores to pass it on to our customers. I am very proud that our store partners' energy and enthusiasm for sustainability make our every day a step further. This is why our "green stores" can be widely adopted.

As Starbucks celebrates its 50th anniversary, the company is expanding its open source green store framework to help reduce its impact on the environment and use its scale to accelerate a more sustainable future globally. In the coming year, Starbucks will continue its international expansion of the project, opening such "green stores" in Japan, the UK and Chile.

Sheila Bonini, senior vice president of private sector engagement at the World Wildlife Fund, said Starbucks' plan to expand its "green stores" demonstrated Starbucks' commitment to environmental management and sustainable innovation. By making the project open source and expanding globally, Starbucks is creating a positive future path to resources around the world.

The key to the Green Store framework is to invest in and accelerate the transformation of clean energy through on-site solar and innovative renewable energy. Starbucks installed a 1-megawatt solar panel at its Carson Valley baking plant and distribution center (Starbucks Carson Valley Roasting Plant and Distribution Center). Solar panels can provide nearly 1/3 of the electricity used by baking plants and distribution centers a year.

The first stop for Starbucks to bring its "green stores" out of North America was Shanghai, China, which is the most serious in the coffee industry, and consumers will not know whether they can accept it until the store opens. What do you think of the "green store"?
