"Flat Red", a coffee drink that is rarely known outside its native Ukraine. Similar to the birth of Flat White, people in Ukraine love to taste red wine (nearly 3.2 billion bottles of wine are consumed each year), while many locals are keen to make their own red wine. Therefore, there are cafes based on this point, hoping to develop a wine-like color, taste similar but non-alcoholic drink.

According to Vadym Granovskiy, the inventor of Flat Red, when he first developed the novel drink, in order to make it more unique and interesting, he chose not to add milk to the drink and wanted a coffee drink with a reddish appearance.

After trying to add Sicilian blood orange juice, it is found that the freshly squeezed blood orange juice will have an obvious astringent taste, and the experience is not good after blending coffee. However, citrus fruit juices go well with coffee, so pomegranate juice is used instead of pomegranate juice in the red part, and seasonal orange juice purchased from Turkey, India, Israel and other countries is added. The juices of the two kinds of fruits not only bring more sweet and sour taste to the coffee, but also form a soft taste like red wine and a hint of fermented wine after heating.

According to the Flat Red recipe shared by Vadym, Qianjie can't wait to try the depth of this cup of coffee! Due to limited conditions, Qianjie was unable to make full use of freshly squeezed pomegranate and orange juice, as Vadym emphasized, so it chose to buy bottled fresh juice, then mix the pomegranate juice with orange juice at 1:1 and refrigerate it in the refrigerator.

Extract a double Espresso and pour into the cup and set aside. The choice is still "sunflower warm sun with Italian beans", in addition to the rich vanilla, cream and berry aromas, concentrated with a little whisky aroma. Today, the extraction parameters are as follows: 19.8g coffee powder was extracted for 29 seconds to obtain 37g coffee liquid.

Take out the one-to-one mixed juice and pour about 160g into the milk jar. Use a steam stick to heat the juice to 55 ℃ and beat out a thin layer of foam. The thickness of foam is about 0.3~0.5cm. After practical operation in Qianjie, it is found that it is very challenging to create a dense bubble, so just do your best. )

Finally, pour the hot juice into the concentrate and mix well, and a cup of Flat Red from Ukraine will be engraved. In appearance, the only resemblance between this cup of coffee and Flat White is that it has a thin layer of foam that provides a silky taste, which may be why it uses the word "Flat".

The actual taste is the bright acidity of orange juice, followed by full and full-bodied wine fermentation, and the residual aroma of coffee and fruit acid fermentation in the mouth is very persistent after swallowing. As the orange juice selected in Qianjie also contains some fruit particles, biting through these particles will also pop out of the hot original orange juice and experience the feeling.
