What are the characteristics of Panama's coffee producing areas? How to grade Jade Manor
Central American coffee is well known in the global coffee market. Although the area of Central America is small, it is rich in natural resources. Central America is a narrow strip of land connecting South America and North America. The topography is mainly plateaus and mountains, with basins and valleys, and is penetrated by the Cordillera system, forming the circum-Pacific volcanic belt. The fertile volcanic soil is good for farming and is located in the tropics, with a mild climate in the intermountain basin, which is very suitable for growing crops such as coffee. Therefore, among the 7 countries in Central America, 6 countries produce coffee and are famous for producing coffee, such as Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama and so on. Panama is famous all over the world for its rose summer varieties.
Panama is located in the south of Central America, connecting Colombia to the east and Costa Rica to the west. Panama is an S-shaped land connecting North and South America, with long and narrow topography, undulating terrain, more mountains and valleys, except for plains in the north and south coastal areas. and the forest cover is high.
Panama is close to the equator, mainly for tropical maritime climate, hot and humid climate during the day, cool at night, the annual average temperature is 23-27C °, mainly divided into drought and rain two seasons, the annual average rainfall quantum ah 1500-2500 mm. Boutique coffee is mainly grown near the volcanic area of Chiriki province in western Panama, which has fertile land brought by volcanic ash, high altitude, the right amount of Rain Water, and the microclimate makes it an excellent coffee producing area.
Panama is divided into 10 provinces and 5 Indian neighborhoods, while boutique coffee is mainly grown in the western province of Chiriki, which is divided into three major producing areas: Boquete, Volcan-Candela and Renacimiento. The producing areas of Boquete and Volcan-Candela surround the country's famous volcano Chiriki (also known as Volc á n Baru), while Renacimiento is located on the western border of Chiriki province and Costa Rica, mainly in the Talamanca Range Mountains.
The most famous of these is Boquete, which is located in the north of Chiriki and its name comes from the city of Poquet. The producing area is located in the mountains of the central mountain range of Panama, the highest of which is the Chiriki volcano Volc á n Baru, which is as high as 3477 meters above sea level. In addition, there are many rivers, which are the birthplace of the Chiriki River (Chiriqu í) and the Caltra River (Caldera).
In addition, the climate here is mainly tropical, but it is influenced by the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean, where moist air converges after flowing through the Central Mountains, forming a unique microclimate. The temperature in this area is between 11 ℃ and 27 ℃, so it will not be too cold or too hot. At the same time, the large temperature difference can make the coffee fruit grow slowly and develop its flavor. In addition, the high altitude mountain area, fertile volcanic soil, sufficient sunshine and special local microclimate enable the producing area to produce high quality coffee. The producing area also has the title of "Coffee Paradise", and there are many well-known estates in Poquet, such as Emerald Manor, Arida Manor and Duncan Manor.
The Emerald Manor is one of the most famous manors, and it is the estate that has discovered the charm of rosy summer. Due to the beautiful scenery, fresh air and good living conditions in Poquet, which attracted many foreign immigrants, American banker Rudolf Peterson retired and moved to the Poquet area of Panama in 1964 and bought the Emerald Manor.
Later, he gave it to his son and grandchildren to take care of it. Later, children and grandchildren improved the techniques and standards of coffee cultivation, studied the effects of local microclimate on planting, picking and processing, and purchased advanced machines to process coffee. In addition, through different plots and harvesting batches and batch cup tests, Rosesia varieties were found and became famous in the Best Panama Competition (BOP).
At present, the Emerald Manor now consists of four farms that grow coffee, including Ca ñ as Verdes, El Velo and Jaramillo, all of which grow rose summer varieties, and each farm is subdivided into different plots.
Jade Manor divides Rosa into three brands: Esmeralda Auction (competitive bidding), Esmeralda Special (red standard) and Private Collection (green standard). In addition, the varieties of Kaddura and Kaduai planted in the park are divided into Diamond Hill Diamond Mountain brands.
Esmeralda Special (Red Standard) is a rose summer carefully selected by the Jade Manor, and it is the highest quality rose summer in the manor, because the score in the cup test must reach more than 91 points. Red sign Rose Summer mainly comes from plots with elevations of 1600-1800 meters above sea level in Ca ñ as Verdes and Jaramillo estates. Because each manor is independently divided into several different plots, the rose summer planted on different plots has a slight difference in flavor, so the red mark of each batch comes from a single separate plot. The bidding is selected from the red bid to be sold to global buyers in the form of auction.
The Panamanian Emerald Manor Red Standard Rosa Coffee beans in front street coffee come from the Buenos Aires (Buenos Aires) plot in Haramillo. With sun treatment, you will smell jasmine in brewing. The taste is full of tropical fruits, cranberries and fruit sugar.
