Global Cafe appreciates Taste European Cafe

In Spanish, there are three main types of coffee: café solo is black coffee, café cortado is a little milk, café conleche is a lot of milk (Italian latte means milk), this is the origin of the so-called latte. But coffee with milk was not invented by an Italian or a Spaniard, but by a Viennese named Jerzy Franciszek Kulczycki, who was a war hero in the war against the Turkish Empire in 1683 and was rewarded by the city council with money and a house, as well as a large amount of coffee seized from the Turkish army, so that he opened a European cafe after the war, the English name means Blue Bottle Cafe. He dressed himself in Turkish costume and mixed milk with coffee, boasting to his customers that although we had learned to drink this dark stuff from the Turks, they had no idea it could be mixed with milk. The Blue Bottle, which opened in 1686, must have been one of the first European cafes. The cafe closed in 1694 after Kurkiski died, but he was still regarded as a hero by Viennese. There was a Kurkiski Festival every October. Viennese cafe owners would paste his portrait on the windows. Vienna now has a street named Kurkiski. There is a statue of him on the corner.

Vienna is said to have more than 600 cafes, several of which are famous, such as Sacher, Sperl, Hawelka, etc., but tourists prefer to go to Café Central, which has the most stories.

Enter the coffeehouse and be confronted by a statue of Adenberg, sitting in a chair with his hand on the coffee table. This sentence was originally a relationship between people and "coffee center", but it gradually evolved into a teacher's self-description of Adenberg. If there are any literary-sounding cafes in the world that are willing to put a small blackboard in front of the door and write a literary-sounding famous saying, then Adenberg is the initiator. He once wrote: "If you are depressed, whatever it is, go to the cafe!" You get only 400 kroner, but you're willing to spend 500 to go to a cafe! You hate the people around you and despise them, but you can't lack them. Go to the cafe!"

Alfred Polgar, another Café Center regular, wrote of "contempt for those around us, but not without them," that "most people in the café are as disgusted with the world as they are eager for it. They want to be alone, but they need company." Many tables in the Coffee Center now have a table sign indicating which celebrities have sat there. You have a cup of coffee here and you have a famous person to be alone with.

Coffee Center's drink list is slightly more complicated. In addition to mocha, cappuccino and Espresso, there are Melange, which is half coffee and half stirred hot milk, Kaiser Melange is coffee with whipped cream and an egg yolk, Mazagran is iced coffee with ice and black cherry wine, and Kaffee Amadeus is obviously related to Mozart. It is coffee with cream and Mozart wine. I picked up Coffee Center Coffee, the shop's signature coffee, coffee with marzipan and cream, with a coffee saying: "Only Irish coffee can provide four food elements in a small cup-caffeine, alcohol, fat, and sugar." I have four of these in my signature coffee. In the morning, the "coffee center" was 80% full. There were still newspaper shelves in the shop, providing various newspapers to read. Many people came to eat breakfast. A piece of bread and a cup of coffee were the same as eating soy milk fried dough sticks in the morning. In essence, coffee is also a kind of soy milk, coffee is a berry, after removing the pulp, the remaining coffee beans, ground into powder, and then use various means to make "coffee soy milk." When traveling, we will visit a famous coffee shop and imagine the scene where literati gather, but when we drink coffee, we will pay attention to whether the coffee fat is orange, whether the milk foam is fine, and pay attention to the balance between bitterness and sourness.

From Vienna to Zurich, it is natural to visit the famous Odeon Cafe. This European café was on the edge of Lake Zurich. Lenin often played chess here when he was in exile in Switzerland. He didn't think much of Switzerland's cosy petty citizens. Famous guests included Albert Einstein and James Joyce in exile in Switzerland, and guidebooks say Dadaism originated in this European cafe. In fact, the artistic youth who fled the war in Zurich during World War I mostly met at the nearby Voltaire Tavern. After a drink at Odeon, which is preparing to celebrate its 100th anniversary, I plan to walk to Voltaire's Tavern, only to see a haunted Starbucks within 20 meters. According to the European perception, Starbucks serves mediocre coffee, and the taste of capital is stronger than the taste of coffee, but can European cafes provide better coffee? For example, the prices of Four Cats, Coffee Center and Odeon Coffee are higher than the average price of European cafes. This added value is the so-called "cultural significance" of coffee. A cup of coffee in the place where Picasso, Zweig and Einstein drank coffee costs one to two euros more. What do we want from a cup of coffee?
