The National Standard for Coffee Beverages has been implemented since December.
There are more and more coffee drinks on the market, which are favored by young people, but in the process of choosing and buying coffee drinks, because the coffee solids and caffeine contents of many coffee drinks are not clear, people have doubts about the authenticity of this kind of products: is there really coffee in coffee drinks?
It is understood that the National Standard for Coffee Beverages, approved and issued by the National Standardization Management Committee, will be formally implemented from December 1. As the first coffee beverage standard in China, it not only fills the gap of coffee beverage standard in the domestic beverage standard system, but also solves the doubts in the minds of consumers. For the outer packaging of most brands of coffee drinks, in addition to the coffee bean pattern, marked with "× coffee beans", "pure coffee" and other promotional words, but also marked a lot of ingredients. For example, on the packaging of a certain brand of coffee beverage, there are more than 20 kinds of ingredients, such as white granulated sugar, plant fat powder, whole milk powder, sweetened condensed milk, edible flavor and so on. Another well-known coffee drink contains more than 10 ingredients, such as water, granulated sugar, instant coffee, emulsifier, stabilizer and so on. So, how much coffee is in the coffee drink? Through observation, it is found that some brands of coffee drinks are specially marked with the prompt message that "sediment is coffee ingredient", and most of the coffee ingredients are instant coffee, coffee extract, coffee powder and so on. In terms of coffee solid content information, only some coffee drinks are specifically marked, such as "coffee extract greater than or equal to 0.6 g / 100 ml", "instant coffee greater than 1%" and so on. Generally speaking, the coffee content of coffee drinks varies somewhat. Most drinks rank coffee ingredients in the third or fourth place, while some brands rank coffee ingredients in the sixth and seventh places. Thus it can be seen that the proportion of solid coffee in coffee drinks is not large.
It is also understood that many consumers hold a negative attitude towards coffee drinks. Mr. Zhou, who loves coffee, is a driver. There is no coffee drink in the trunk. Every time he goes to the supermarket, he will carry two or three cases. Mr. Zhou said that he is sleepy when driving, so he has a few cans of coffee in the car and a few sips of coffee when he is sleepy can make him feel refreshed. But in terms of taste, coffee drinks are definitely not comparable to plain coffee, they are just easy to carry. Mr. Zhao, a citizen, also said that coffee drinks are only used as daily drinks and are not coffee at all. "Coffee drinks taste good, sweet and fragrant. I like to drink them." Compared with coffee beans and freshly ground coffee, coffee drinks have more diverse tastes and taste more silky, so coffee drinks can only be used as a necessary drink to quench thirst. "Coffee drinks are not coffee, because they are too poor in taste and mellow compared with authentic coffee." Ms. Zhang, who runs a restaurant, said that the coffee content of coffee drinks is indeed doubtful. "I think coffee drinks taste more like additives. Some coffee drinks cost two or three yuan a bottle, and it's hard to say whether there is coffee in it or not." According to the salesperson who promotes coffee drinks in the supermarket, due to the lack of relevant "national standards" for coffee drinks, all brands of coffee drinks on the market implement enterprise standards, and the production enterprises decide on their own ingredients, ingredients and coffee content.
Industry insiders believe that the implementation of the National Standard for Coffee Beverages from next month fills the gap in the domestic beverage standard system. In the Standard, in addition to stipulating the caffeine content, which is the characteristic index of coffee beverage, the coffee solid content is also strictly regulated as the technical index. The formulation of these two technical indicators can effectively ensure the authenticity of coffee drinks and further standardize the production and consumption market of coffee drinks. Some questions have also been raised. Li Hong, the manager of the coffee shop, believes that instant coffee can be added to coffee drinks, which is very low in purity and very profitable. On this basis, manufacturers add a little more coffee "extract" to their products, which can be sold as a coffee beverage, so that although it can meet the national standards, it is still far inferior to coffee in taste and taste.
