Nestle to build coffee factory in Qingdao
This is already the second factory Nestl é has invested in Laixi. According to the person in charge of Nestl é Group, Qingdao, as a port city, has a natural advantage in the supply of raw materials. In addition, the local provision of high-quality investment environment in Qingdao is an important reason for the location of this world-class coffee factory.
This world-class coffee factory in Laixi has a total investment of 880 million yuan, covers an area of 226000 square meters and produces 120000 tons of coffee a year. The project includes Nestle coffee extraction and spray drying lines as well as all necessary industrial services. The coffee powder originally produced by the factory is mainly used in Nestl é Dongguan Coffee Factory and Shanghai Beverage Plant to produce and process coffee mixed beverages, with the potential for future capacity expansion and finished product production. Paul Bokai, CEO of Nestl é Group, told reporters that China's strategic development position in Nestl é's world is growing with each passing day. The establishment of the new Lacey factory fully reflects Nestl é's continued commitment to the Chinese market and lays a solid foundation for the company's future development.
Qingdao is not a coffee bean producing area, why is it chosen as a world-class coffee factory? The relevant person in charge of Nestl é Group said that Qingdao certainly does not have much advantage compared with raw material producing areas, but Qingdao as a port city has unique transportation advantages, and coffee beans exported through Africa, Vietnam and other places can enter and leave through Qingdao Port, which undoubtedly provides sufficient raw materials for the development of the factory.
Led by the staff, the reporter visited the world-class coffee factory. The bright and clean workshop is empty, only the machine is running at high speed. The workshop adopts fully automated equipment, and coffee is completely automated from selection, roasting, extraction to the final finished product. Technicians only need to operate the equipment in the monitoring room and monitor the indicators of coffee beans.
