No matter what kind of coffee beans, freshness is an important factor affecting the quality. When choosing and buying, grab one or two coffee beans and chew them in your mouth. If there is a crisp sound (indicating that the coffee beans are not wet) and the tooth pods stay fragrant is the top grade, but it is best to squeeze them with your hands to feel whether they are solid, rather than buying empty-shell coffee. The method of selecting coffee beans is mainly divided into several steps: smell, see, peel, and several steps:

1) smell: if you put the coffee beans close to your nose, you can clearly smell the strong aroma of the coffee beans, which means that the coffee beans are fresh enough. On the contrary, if the coffee beans are light, oily or greasy, it means that the coffee beans are no longer fresh. Such coffee beans can only be discarded, and even skilled baristas cannot extract a cup of high-quality coffee with stale coffee beans.

2) look: spread out the coffee beans on your hand, determine the origin and variety of coffee beans, and the uniformity of baking, fresh and good coffee beans have round and full shape, shiny, high-quality coffee beans have uniform particle size and no defective beans. Bad traders often mix coffee beans with defective beans.

3) peel: take a coffee bean, fresh coffee beans can be easily peeled off, and there will be a crisp sound. The color of the outer skin and inner layer of beans is the same, indicating that the firepower of roasting is uniform, stale coffee beans need a lot of effort to peel off beans, and coffee beans with uneven roasting are often peeled and the color of the inner layer is not the same.
