Chengmai, Nanhai, May 29 (Nanhai net reporter Yang Xi Li Xiaomei) as one of the five major activities of the 12th Yingbin Longshui Festival in Hainan, the third China Fushan Cup International barista Championship opened on May 29 in Chengmai Mountain Coffee style Town, Hainan. 25 national champions from 12 countries and regions competed for the Fushan Cup International barista Championship.

This year's baristas Championship attracted 25 elite baristas from 12 countries, including Ecuador, Australia, Canada, Uganda, South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand and the Philippines, as well as Chinese provinces, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The contestants from abroad are all national champions and runners-up, representing the highest level of domestic baristas. Chinese contestants are among the best baristas in the provincial competition in 2013 and 2014, with an average age of 25.

The consul general of the Consulate General of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Melaku Legg, came to Chengmai, Hainan for the first time. "Hainan people's love and taste for coffee is impressive, and there is a strong coffee culture here. Also let me see the huge market potential."

Huang Huiying, director of food culture research in Guangdong Province, who is committed to the promotion of coffee culture, believes that although China's coffee consumption market is growing rapidly, many people are "following the trend." they do not know how to taste coffee. "the barista contest is a good way to promote coffee culture and enhance the taste of the masses, and it can also promote the development of local coffee brands in China."

Fushan Town, Chengmai County, Hainan Province is one of the birthplaces of coffee in China. It has been nearly 80 years since Mr. Chen Xianzhang, the founder of Chinese coffee, personally planted the first coffee tree in Fushan area in 1933. The Fushan Coffee Culture Town was named "the first Coffee Town in China" by China Fruit Circulation Association in early 2014. Today, under the leadership of the second generation heir Xu Shibing, Fushan Coffee has always been moving forward along the track of "inheritance, development and innovation", striving to be the first local coffee brand of "Tianya treasure and Qiongzhou unique".

The China Fushan Cup International barista Championship, as the top event in China's coffee industry, has been successfully held twice since it began in 2012. The competition has attracted coffee champions from Colombia, Brazil, Ecuador, the United States, France, Italy, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and other countries, as well as from various provinces of China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The competition is highly appreciated by the coffee industry at home and abroad.
