Design of Cafe Design of small Cafe in Otahara City, Japan

Designer Hiroyuki Shinozaki completed the design of this small coffee shop. The small cafe is located on the street of a quiet residential area in Otahara, Japan.

Looking up, there are wood-colored volumes of different sizes, the interior of which is empty, with tables, chairs, plants and kitchens below. This one-story building uses a combination of reinforced concrete and wood structure, realizing spaces of different sizes in an area of 49,000 square meters. The internal transparent partition makes the wooden structure above the building like a hat floating on the white wall, in which the empty box of different sizes blurs the distinction between inside and outside.
