In the eyes of others, Wang Min is definitely an "alternative": a top student who graduated from a dance school is engaged in something that has nothing to do with his major; he opens a coffee shop to do business, but is very picky about the guests who come to spend money; he often stays in a small hotel and travels by bike. "No matter what happens in the future, I am happy to be the inheritor of Boao folk culture and marine culture," he said. "

Wang Min, 36, is the owner of the "old house" life hall in Boao town, where she officially took root two years ago. Wang Min carefully tasted the black tea in the tea bowl and told the reporter about his fate with Boao.

In 1997, Wang Min graduated from a dance school in Beijing, majoring in dance choreography. After graduation, he went to perform all over the country with his unit, and later formed his own dance performance team, where he worked as a party planner and director. In 2007, he gave up many performance opportunities and plunged into Boao. "I am a native of Qionghai, and the quietness of Boao attracts me."

Wang Min found a dilapidated old house in Boao town, which is the house of a friend's house. Friends in the form of real estate shares, and Wang Min cooperation to open a coffee shop. "you can't imagine the bad situation of the old house at that time. More than 10 cars were cleaned up just behind the house." Wang Min said.

The old house that the reporter sees now is full of taste, and all the elements of the life hall of the "old house" are made up of ancient Devonian stone mortar, tables and chairs remade from old ships, and old sewing machines.

What Wang Min does is often difficult to understand: spend nearly 1 million yuan to decorate an "old house" and spend more than 80,000 yuan to build a hanging garden, while a table in the hanging garden is only for three guests to drink coffee; build a small attic, only for one person to drink coffee …...

Since the "old house" opened in November 2009, Wang Min has been staying in a small hotel and travelling by bike every day. Over the past few years, Wang Min has cycled through more than 200 villages in Boao Town. On the one hand, it is to find the peace in the soul, on the other hand, it is to find the hometown used by local residents, and of course, it will collect famous local snacks, such as chicken shit, rattan poop, barley, and so on.

"with the continuous changes in Boao, the old things of the past need to be handed down from generation to generation. I am happy to be the inheritor of Boao folk culture and marine culture." Wang Min said.

He said that no matter what the fate of the "old house" is in the future, he will stick to it, at least proving that he has been to the "Paradise Town" and that he has witnessed the future of Boao.

Collect seashells and collect old ships to tell the Story of the Sea

Many people who are familiar with Boao say that near the mouth of the Sanjiang River, there is a place that bears a striking resemblance to Boao's temperament, that is, the Story of the Sea Coffee Bar. The path in front of the coffee bar is covered with cobblestones, fences are made by fishing nets on both sides of the road, and dozens of fishing boats are shelved on the seaside clearing, with masts and rusty anchors witnessing the vicissitudes of history.

The themes of "the Story of the Sea" are all related to the sea. Tables and chairs are made from dilapidated wooden boat boards, shells, fishermen's lanterns, fishing nets and other elements for decoration. "Captain" Wang Zilong told reporters: "the Story of the Sea" is located by the sea, and the gate faces the sea, which is only ten meters away from the sea. Our staff here are called crew members. I am the captain. I also have the positions of sailor, monitor, chef and so on. There is a large ship in the hall, which is placed in the middle of the hall, which means that we are ready to set sail for the wider ocean. " In the process of collecting wooden boats, they went to almost every fishing port in Hainan and collected a total of 40 dilapidated wooden boats. some fishermen knew that they wanted to create a "story of the sea" and spontaneously donated wooden boats when inheriting marine culture.

The Story of the Sea, which covers an area of about 800 square meters, is jointly funded by professional manager Jiang Xiang and a well-known media host.

Born in a seaside fishing village near Boao, Jiang Xiang has unforgettable feelings for the sea. In 2008, Jiang Xiang went to Boao to manage a four-star hotel. During his days in Boao, he found his childhood memories and liked it from the bottom of his heart. As a result, he had an idea to build a leisure place closely related to the sea. Jiang Xiang netted all the stones, wood and fishing lights from the seaside, designed them himself and installed them with his own hands.

After more than two years of preliminary preparation, the 2010 annual meeting of Boao Forum opened on April 9, 2010, and the Story of the Sea also opened.

"Captain" Wang Zilong said that "the Story of the Sea" is a place for the soul to rest, let people calm down, listen to the sound of the sea, smell the taste of the sea, and slowly taste Boao.

Nowadays, the Story of the Sea Coffee Bar, which has been operating for a year, is becoming more and more famous, and many guests go there. Many couples choose to take wedding photos here. This is also one of the original music bases for music enthusiasts in Hainan.
