Coffee grounds turned into environmentally friendly flower fertilizer

Changsha Evening News (Reporter Zhou Huixia) recently, Starbucks Global Service month Changsha station caring environmental protection community tour was held in Liaojiawan community. More than 300 young volunteers bring "green wind" to the community through a series of activities such as environmental protection classes, community cleaning, flea markets and so on. More than 300 community residents took an environmental lesson in the interactive game.

At the scene of "the wonderful use of Coffee grounds," resident Li Chunying painted her own green planet pattern on green paper cups, and then, under the guidance of volunteers, mixed black coffee grounds with soil, and then put succulent plant species in coffee grounds fertilizer. "there is no garbage, only misplaced resources, and coffee grounds are also treasures." After learning a trick, she simply asked for two large bags of coffee grounds to be used as a base fertilizer for growing flowers and a deodorant for the refrigerator, and she had never thought that the residue could be reused after drinking coffee.

April is Starbucks' Global Service month every year. The reporter learned that in the past few years, Starbucks has carried out a series of green community initiatives in 58 cities in China, with a total service time of more than 1 million hours.
