How long can I keep coffee beans or coffee powder?
Coffee beans produced in mass production are all made using the central roasting model. It takes as little as a week to stir up the coffee, but the average delivery time in the industry is two months, while the shelf life of mass coffee beans is usually between one year and 18 months.
In 1999, the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) adopted the definition of "freshly roasted coffee" as: no matter how packaged, it must be brewed within 3 to 7 days after roasting, and it must be brewed immediately after grinding. SCAA president Don Holly concluded that this was not something that mass coffee producers wanted to hear because their distribution systems often failed to deliver beans to consumers within a week.
How long can coffee beans and coffee powder last?
It depends on the quality of the coffee you drink. How many people can taste the difference between a week and two weeks, or two weeks and a month, based on differences in their sensitivity to smell and taste? Therefore, one month is generally acceptable as long as you know how to preserve coffee beans.
The shelf life of coffee powder is very short. After grinding into powder, oxidation accelerates due to increased surface area, and aromas and flavors are largely lost within minutes. Therefore, unless you have to, such as in the office, out of the case where you can not grind beans, it is best to buy fresh coffee beans, and then grind them before drinking.
