Fine coffee healthy coffee common sense coffee can prevent tinnitus
A new study suggests coffee drinking is good for ear health. Researchers at Brigham and Women's Hospital found that women who drank coffee regularly were less likely to suffer from tinnitus.
The researchers followed more than 65,000 American women aged 30 to 44 who had no tinnitus symptoms in 1991 for 18 years. During that time, nearly 5300 women reported tinnitus. The analysis, published in the American Medical Journal, found that women who drank less than 150 mg of caffeine a day (about one cup of coffee) were 15 percent more likely to develop tinnitus than women who drank 450-599 mg of caffeine a day (3-4 cups of coffee). The researchers speculate that caffeine stimulates the central nervous system and thus has a positive effect on the health of the inner ear.
