People's Daily, June 23-Yonhap news agency quoted the Korean Agricultural and Aquatic Food Circulation Corporation (aT) 22 as saying that South Korean coffee imports from January to May this year soared 13.6% year-on-year, reaching 52660 tons. South Korean tea production fell from 3888 tons in 2007 to 3709 tons in 2012. It can be seen that at present, coffee has become the favorite drink for South Koreans after meals, and its import is increasing year by year. On the contrary, the tea made in South Korea is increasingly neglected by the market, and its output is decreasing year by year. In order to increase South Korean people's attention to domestic tea and promote the development of domestic tea industry, the South Korean government plans to hold a policy forum from July 2 to 22 to actively solicit national opinions and suggestions. The Korean Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Animal products and Food also plans to increase the use of domestic tea in coffee shops and study plans to further improve the quality and price competitiveness of South Korean tea.
